Seems a lot of vapers are psychologically addicted to nicotine, then. Every time there is another FDA scare, new stockpiling threads appear...

I stockpiled ammo and bought a new AR-15 when Obama and Holder started going after guns again. Does that make me psychologically addicted to smokeless powder, brass, steel, or lead?

I agree with you on this one. They are psychologically dependent. I found that I was not physically addicted through an accident. Once I realized what i did (forgot to put the nicotine in my juice) I was psychologically free of the need of nicotine. Now I can take it or leave it. When I smoked I was trained that nicotine was extremely addictive and it was incredibility hard to quit, I would run to the store to get my next few packs if I was running low any time day or night regardless of what was going on. Once the nicotine is removed from tobacco the addiction changes from a physical addition to a psychological dependance, that is until you have an eureka moment.Seems a lot of vapers are psychologically addicted to nicotine, then. I'll order a bottle of 0 nic next purchase to see what happens...

I know you don't have the answer, but it's reasonable to ask: did these individuals satisfy the clinical criteria for chemical dependence, or did they just chew nicotine gum on a regular basis because they really enjoyed it?
I'm addicted to my daily free weight and stationary bicycle ride. Along with that, I'm disappointed if my schedule doesn't allow me to do my workout. I'm also addicted to the Star Trek TNG episode that I watch daily while I ride.
We are all creatures of habit. I'm finding myself more addicted to the actions of vaping than the medicinal content.
OTOH, I found myself not as addicted to the 24mg juice I thought I had to have. I was able to reduce my nic level downward to 6mg over a few months without fanfare. I'm as happy at 6mg as I was at 24mg and I'm experiencing less irritation due to the reduced TH.
Nicotine improves memory, concentration, and attention, even in people who have never used nicotine before. It is interesting one without dependency on nicotine would vape e-liquid with nicotine...
Hey there Dave, you might want to get some professional help with that Treki addiction, who knows where it may lead-good episodes are hard to kick! A solid 2 hours of guitar scale practice is what i prescribe for myself although i hate to self medicate generally speaking.
Just sitting around twiddling my fingers and being introspective doesn't satisfy my addiction to surfing (adrenaline) and I get really irritable if (apparent) global warming has ruined my favorite sandbar, forcing me to bird watch on the beach all day![]()

That's funny.I'm about to go have my second slice of pecan pie tonight...I've been craving it all day. I hope I'm not addicted![]()
Yes!! They are possessed by the Nicodemon! Just ask any of the nut jobs on the hardcore quit-smoking forums.Looks like some posters here have missed Phillips' post on the "demonic possession" hypothesis: Economic illiteracy about tobacco, from the antepode | Anti-THR Lies and related topics
To expand: only ANTZ magical thinking can allow one to reconcile the cognitive dissonance of 1) claiming nicotine is a dangerous substance with zero benefits and 2) over 1.2 billion people worldwide choose to continue consuming nicotine. Thus, Phillips proposes the "rational" resolution that these nicotine consumers must be possessed by a demon compelling them to act against their own true preferences.
What he said. And I think it's this simple - dependence clearly exists on a continuum along which we all sit.
