I know there has been much discussion about the safety of oxidized SS mesh wicks but what about the chemical makeup up laser engraved surfaces in many rebuildable tanks that are in constant contact with your juice?
What is the chemical composition of this laser engraved surface? It is steel that has been oxidized with a laser. Does this surface contain Cr(VI)? If no that, then what? Steel is typically heavily oxidation resistant and won't leech anything into our juice but how about after it has been changed by this process?
