So I guess it's supposed to 8.5mm (nominal) not 9.5mm Typical of my memory... The 7.7mm one must have pretty think o-rings compared to the other (and the ones I have).

Most of the world has forgotten/never knew 8" floppies existed. But 3.5" still has a "floppy" disc inside the outer case. It the magnetic media that make it floppy or hard. I've still got some removable hard disks (Syquest, 230MB and 1.5GB)
