Does it matter weather the Bromothymol Blue is in 0.1, 0.04 or other concentration, or does the higher solution only give more colour? Normally it only says Bromothymol Blue solution, without any indication of the concentration. Is there any possibility that BB from different vendors may give...

I was thinking more of the TH thing. AFAIK more PG gives more TH, while VG gives more "smoke". With the cartos, my experience is that high PG is harder to get right as the polyfill will not hold the juice well enough. Just waiting for supplies, so that I can switch to carto-tanks.:-)

With a lavatube and an extra battery, you should be golden. Should set you back somewhere in the $75-100 range though.
