My home remodel/repair/fixin's haven't been happening for a little while now. It is secondary to when there's leather work to be done (or leatherworking ideas that need exploring). Mostly secondary because the house will still be here whenever I get to it; but if there's a wee job with the leather (or an idea to flesh out), that's usually time sensitive.
so, no housy work; but been doing some leather stuff.
I made that vape bag for Elaine .. .
I started messing around with "inking" (using the leather dye like ink, with dip-pens/nibs, and a bit like watercolors)
This became a cellphone case slash wallet . ..
and then I did a tri-fold wallet.
. . . lots of pockets n' slots.
Trying to stay very refined and pack a lot of features without losing slimness . ..
(this is with the English Kip leather . . . very, very nice stuff)
I'm actually going to get back into remodel stuff, pro'ly tomorrow.
(also/but have impending some restoration work on an old Mahogany front door for a contractor friend).
But, if I find some time, I'd like to try and ink up an idea I've got brewing.
This would also fit well with a tri-fold wallet.
I have initial "sketches" and color ideas based on a small Rose of Sharon we have in the back yard, that I was gazing at while having my coffee .. .
just roughing out the idea, and experimenting with various pens and techniques.
not refined yet.
But then I thought of I how I want to do the 3 main stems a little differently, and scribbled it on paper, just so's I'd remember . . .and then I thought "mirror" . . . and then I thought "wallet" . . .and then I thought "tri-fold" (cause I was working on tri-fold)
. . . and so, yeah, I'm liking where I'm imagining this going.
I think I might just practice and refine a bit more, and then ink this for reals on an appropriate size piece of leather, and make the wallet with it when a wallet is called for (thusly, laying out the interior per custom specs).
so, yeah, no house progress.
been keeping up with the exercise stuff tho

had some pretty sweet elbow pain from joints trying to keep up with muscle; but I went easy for a bit, did some reverse Tyler Twists, and I'm full speed ahead now.
