or, I imagine, you could run them over your nipples for that exotic feel?

Tell y'all a little story.

One evening last week, while I was down at the cabin in the Blue Ridge, I misplaced my walnut Pinch for several hours. That mod has been my ADV / daily driver for more than six years now. It's been everywhere with me, and I am not normally someone who loses track of the mod I'm using!

Anyway, I searched high and low, everywhere I could conceivably have put it down. I was distraught completely and beside myself for not being able to locate it. I'm not even sure I understand why I was so upset. It's not like I didn't have other mods available there, and it's not like I don't have spare Pinches; as most of you know, I have pretty nice collection of them. But none of them are the walnut Pinch that's been my constant companion for so long.

Yes, I did eventually find it, and it's still my ADV. :)

meant to ask. was there a point in this story where the exclamation, "Dohhh!", made an appearance? ( . . .. or, a "sonance", I guess).

Yeah, something like that, when I finally looked in the place where I had actually put it down.

Except when I'm at my desk, or in bed, my Pinch usually lives in my shirt pocket, just like a pack of cigs did for decades prior to the switch. In fact, I will not wear shirts that don't have pockets.

Many years ago, I learned that I have to be careful when I bend over, for example to pick something up off the ground, lest it fall out and onto the ground. If I only need one hand to do what I'm doing on the ground, I unconsciously use the other to restrain it in my pocket. Call it muscle memory, if you will. But if I need both (and I did) I usually take it out and put it down somewhere temporarily. But I also usually remember to grab it and put it back in my shirt pocket the moment I'm upright again. In this case, I seem to have had a brain fart and neglected to do so.

I have this old-school hanging produce scale in my kitchen.
I once spent about an hour searching for a mod that was packed and ready to ship.
Had left it in the scale when I'd weighed it and then gone to the 'puter to print the shipping label.
I also exclaimed "doh!"; but you'da not heard it fluttering amongst all the other colorful birds flying from my mouth.

One time in my office, urgently needing to note something down, I was more and more feverishly shouting "Where's my pen?"..."where is my effin pen?!??!!".
But no one could understand what I was saying. Because I was holding my pen between my teeth.

@pdib

I am setting a Pinch up as a "hot spare". That means I need to add it to my maintenance logs. However, this is one I acquired second-hand. I think I got it from DJ, but I am no longer certain. In any case, I need to give it a name. My logs currently contain "Walnut Pinch", "Green Pinch" (which I know is a dyed, stabilized maple), and "Koa Pinch", plus a several CCs by metal/alloy (yeah I own and use a few of those too).

Would you happen to recall what species of wood this was, so I can reference it properly?

Apologies for the quick & dirty snapshot.

yep 17th Pinch (batch) for DJ. Desert Ironwood.
Thank you, sir!

PS: It's all set up now with a proper Burns bottle (it had some even squishier bottle in it) and my usual, tootle-puffing 0.75 ohm (3x30 twisted) Z-Coil in an O-16 and a VTC5A. It runs good.
