Old cars - I can remember a few times when I felt like this:

That is awesome!

In '94 I was working at a Ford dealership and driving a POS Tempo which had an appetite for freeze plugs. For those unfamiliar, a freeze plug is a 50 cent part which, at the time, required $1500 worth of labor to get to.

I was leaving work one night and it wouldn't start. That was the final straw. I cleaned it out, took off the license plate and left it in the parking lot. I went in and ordered a brand new Mustang and drove a program car until it came in.

The thing was, my daughter was under a year old at the time so when I told my wife what I had done (we only had 1 car at the time), she blew a gasket. What kind of idiot buys a 2 door car when you have to get a baby in and out of the back, or something like that :?:

Drove that Mustang for 11 years though, loved that car.

Years after I left the dealership I got a call one day, they said they had found a Tempo in the back of the lot and traced the VIN to me. They asked what I wanted them to do with it, I told them they could blow it up for all I cared, or just sell it for scrap. I never wanted to see it again.

i once watched a friend of a friend, a guy name Simon go all Basil Fawlty on his car one night after it refused to start.
The car was a French one, a Citroen Dyane if i remember and they looked better than some French cars. Anyway, after trying to get it to crank over with a starting handle(!!) he lost his rag totally and took that handle to the car.
He smashed the windscreen, all the lights and put about 30 dents in the roof and bonnet before he was tired out and had to stop.

i was lmfao ofc. He also refused to pay the bill when the council tried to charge him for towing it away as an abandoned car about 2 weeks later!

what about Mundy? you good with I dis him . .. tho . . . then? :?:

why is it that only ancient tech has feelings, i wonder? I remember stroking the dash and cooing to plenty of 20-30 yr old pickup trucks when that's the type of thing I was driving, back in the day. ("don't die on me now, baby . . . you can do this")

Because the younger thinks they are entitled and have no drop of kindness in them. They never knew the touch of a human hand during their birth. Not lovingly created by the hands of a craftsman to give them a heart. High-maintenance to boot.

so, quick progress report.

I got the hats'n'heinies all detailed, and did whatever bit of "final blending" on the mod body-caps. So, that's all done.

I got all the buttons made and did all the finishing on them.

I'm just over the hump (the 1/2-way hump) on installing all the 510 connectors. So, I hope to wrap up the 510 installations tonight and in the morning and start w/ assembling and fitting switch assemblies. So, well into final assembly here.

:?: . . . oh .. . .

i think maybe this guy needs a set of knuckle pads more than he does a helmet, maybe?

Pete..this is a brilliant atty. No wonder the people are calling for a rerun! It squonks and drains beautifully, the vapor production is very good, and the flavor is out of this world, not to mention the smoothness of the vape with just the right amount of TH! And I find it extremely easy to build! It's also very versatile and suits a variety of builds. I have a 1.2 ohms single kanthal coil (my usual build) and right from the start I was blown away.

Tami..thank you my dear :)

I have a small arsenal of them as do many others.

Any atty I can replace with a Nuppin is promptly set in the drawer.

:D

Now you know why.

I got a 100 pack myself. Since you're out of country, it might not help you, but I got mine from McMaster-Carr.

I also have some nice 0.9mm hex drivers for them. Makes life happy when building IMO.

glad you like it, Tamer.

the screws are so small because it's the only size I found readily available that was short enough to go in the side and not have to make the atty bigger to accommodate it. As it is, I wouldn't want the deck any larger in diameter.

And, yes, beckdg, those .9mm hex drivers are great. Amazing how much better they engage the screws, and consequently don't strip them out.
