Hello all!

I found this thread because I'm looking for a good voltage to pump into my 3 ohm dual coil tank cartos that will be arriving from madvapes tomorrow.
I usually carry my homemade 3.7 volt mods to work, but have only used them with the prefilled cartos that I buy locally.
I have to keep things stealthy there.

After reading this I am beginning to doubt that they will be sufficient for these new dual coil jobs.
3.7 volts to a 3 ohm carto renders less than 5 watts.
Am I to understand that my actual wattage at each coil will be HALF of this already dismal figure?

I have all the parts and the know-how to build a VV mod but making one small enough to hide in a shirt pocket will be a challenge considering the tank is already much bigger than the carto is alone.

should i just get 1.5 or 1.7 ohm cartos for this or am i stuck with no tank on the job?
I have been carrying 2 loaded cartos per 8-hour shift, and i'm really getting tired of refilling these things.

what do?

Thanx, CG

If you're getting the stock DC carto with the tank that I got from MadVapes, you're actually presenting a 1.6-1.7 ohm load to the battery, resulting in wattage from about 10.7-6 watts (figuring a fully charged "3.7v" battery actually delivering about 4.2v at first tapering off to about it's usual cutoff at 3.2v). I'd really recommend a big battery mod (Big Chuck, MV's Gold Rush Gold Rush Tube Mod , or their Maxi Roughstack Maxi Roughstack V2 ) though stealth tends to go out the window with the combination of these and a full 6ml DC tank!

What might be a good alternative is their variable voltage set Variable Volt Box Mod w/ Voltage Indicator with extra batteries for long days. The advantage here is that you can fine tune the voltage and have a more consistent wattage experience (as it regulates the voltage delivered a bit more than running straight off of a battery.) It's also a tad more concealable....

It's split evenly too unless the two coils have different resistance values Oh noooooo ;) Don't listen to me, I'm just being funny.

Now that I have added yet another variable...
[/URL] post #27 has a nifty chart from atomizer mizer showing the voltages and wattages in the ranges we often see on PVs.

Oh, oh!!!! Is this the next big thing? Dual resistance dual coils? ;)

I was just thinking about all this earlier as I just ordered a Provari. I was trying to figure out what combinations would give me the same power with x resistance carto and x voltage setting.

So, is power the main thing that matters? If I were to take say a boge 2.0 ohm carto and vape at 3.7 volts would that essentially give me the same vape as a 3.0 ohm carto at 4.5 volts, or are there any other variables (assuming the cartos are both good quality, yada, yada...

...essentially yes, afterall, wattage is wattage...however, the same juice will taste a bit diff with either one...in my experimentation, with 1.7s @ 3.7v VS 3.0 @ 5v, I find I like tobacco flavs better with the 1.7/3.7v and sweet/fruit flavs with the 3/5v...I dunno for sure BUT, I think the 1.7s get warmer, faster than the 3.0s because they have a smaller coil(maybe)......

Thanks madjack!

...notta prob, like I said, experiment around and see which you like...when I got my Evercool box mod and some 3.2ohm Boges, I fully expected to stick the E-Power in the desk drawer...found that just wasn't gonna be the case...I leave the box mod set on 5v(usually) and use it with dual coils for some juices and the 3.2 Boges for others and use the E-Power with 1.7s for still others..............
