One thing to consider about dropping your nic content. I vaped 18mg for a few months and vaped constantly. I dropped it to 12 and vaped constantly and wanted a cigarette. I went the other way to 24mg and all of a sudden I didn't need to vape as much. This is anecdotal but may be the case for others. Your body lets you know when you have had enough.

Everyone chain vapes when they first start, an subsequently when they get each new mod. There's a learning curve, and we rush it because we wanna figure out everything quickly.

I suppose that's normal.

Once the novelty wears off, you'll slow down, and subsequently be able to tone down your nicotine strengths.

As mentioned before... Chain vape if you have to, just don't smoke actual cigarettes. You'll soon cross a threshold (if you haven't already) which makes you absolutely HATE the way they taste, and that's a huge puddle to leap over.

Might have something to do with our addictive personality traits, what got us hooked in the first place and what makes it so hard to stop smoking for us. As opposed to the "I just went cold turkey, what's the problem" types..... :)

:pYa, what ever they said...one drop can barly give you one drag. One full cart...I've heard is like a whole pack...to me it doesn't even satisfy like one cig.....so whatever whatever whatever! I got my Reos...I vape between 5mls and 10mls a day...how many drops is that?? I used to smoke about one pack to one and a half packs a day.

I actually did quit smoking cold turkey about 3 years ago, then started again when I had to accept a job in an indoor smoking environment, which I absolutely hated (the job and the smoke). I started again to cope with the smell. I always found it less offensive if I was smoking too.

In that 3 year period of being smoke free, I did occasionally smoke with friends when offered, but it was less than 1 cig per month in that entire time period. It was these occasional cigs that mad me realize how much I missed smoking, although I didn't want to go back to being addicted.

Vaping balances that for me. I can effectively get my sensation, but not have to deal with all the other BS. Plus, I can puff right at my cube at my new job... So when it rains, snows, or it's 100+degrees out, I can be in climate controlled environment, a comfy chair, puffing away. That goes for bar nights too. LOL at all those smokers who have to go outside and freeze their nuts off in the winter. :)

The first step is to get off the cigarettes completely. Next, try to lower your nicotine if that's what you want to do. I wouldn't do it too soon or you might start smoking again.

What exactly is the difference between vaping a lower nicotine and vaping a lot as opposed to vaping higher nicotine and not vaping as much?
bigger odds of dehydration :D

An issue with measuring things by drops is that drops aren't always the same size. For example, I have some little 5ml bottles that produce tiny drops with PG liquid and in that case I believe it's more like 50 drops per ml. With average droppers I think around 30drops per ml is about right for the liquid I use. VG tends to form bigger drops though.

For Nicotine, I think a drop of e-Liquid can be equated to a single cigarette. Just need to know an agreed upon absorption rate of Nicotine vapor into the body mass per a unit time. Simple math at that point.

But I think what is sometimes lost is that Cigarette Smoke contains many other Chemicals besides Nicotine that are not present in e-Cig vapor. Once again, no one agrees on the exact number and it is going to vary from Cigarette Brand to Cigarette Brand.

Addiction to these other Chemicals in Cigarette Smoke besides Nicotine aren’t mentioned much. But I feel they play a significant role why quitting analogs is so hard for many people.

And the OP is correct. As long as he/she doesn’t smoke analogs, that is what is the most important.

It's been 4 months, and I'm still waiting for the novelty to wear off. I am down to 6mg though (from 12mg).
But yeah, I'd say vape as much as you need to, to stay off the analogs, but do pay attention to your body when it's telling you to slow down (jitters, splitting headache, etc.).

I don't know about thos Chemicals in analog cigs....I smoked malbro's and newports for many years and then went to aditive free cigs Winstin and American spirit....then I rolled my own...when it was much cheaper, before they added that insane tax to rolling tobacco. Anyway, I didnt feel any diff smoking aditive free verses chemical cigs. I find that the difficulties being satified vaping (atty problems, battery problems, ect) is what makes it hard to stay of analogs. There is a learning curve with vaping...noone has with smoking. Vaping can be frusterating, exspecaily when starting out.

You can easily put a battery and a carto in your pocket/purse and keep 2nd set of backups in your car.

This is really hard to equate. I found an article (will have to find again!) about a man that vaped constantly at 24mg, went in for an actual nic level test (out of curiousty) and they found his level much lower than that of an analog smoker. I think we are getting less nicotine than we think we are.....I was a light smoker and started off with 8-11mg juice and didn't find it was even as satisfying for me at the 18mg. Of course I think you can overdo it and end up with headache dizziness, but I have to really really overdo it to get to that point now. Unless I've just gotten used to more nic? so confused LOL.

I suspect everyone has to compare analogs to vaping on an individual basis.

In my case, I used to smoke two cartons per week. Now I find I go through about 15 ml. of eliquid per week (I vape mostly 24 mg. eliquids but do have some 18 mg. eliquids which I like). So — for me — I figure 7-8 ml. roughly equals one carton of analogs.

Your mileage may vary . . .

Ya...cuase i used to smoke about a pack and a half now I vape at the very least 5mls a day. I'm sure it depends how you vape and how you used to smoke..how much nic you are really getting. My e juice is high nic at least 36mg. Aslo when I use a piece of four mg nic gum...like in church...were i dont vape....it feels quite strong.

If 1 drop is equivalent to 1 cigarette then just from switching to vaping I've gone up for a pack a day to the equivalent of 3 packs.. yet I'm breathing better already, in just a week, and got nicotine withdrawal symptoms.. so something must be off! I'll go for a combo of the nicotine absorption and other chemicals opinions that I've read on ECF.

I think it's more important when switching to concentrate on completely quitting analogues before you start worrying about juice intake. Within reason ofc, don't make yourself ill! I equate this to switching to lighter cigarettes.. you know you're going to start off by smoking more of them, but after a few days when you're used to them you can cut down to what you were smoking before

i recently got released from hospital. when my friend came to visit i was between charges so i had a camel light. when i got in my pulse oxygen reading was at 78. but when i was chain smoking my e-cig my pulse ox was at 93+. that is why we feel better breathing when we are vaping as opposed to smoking more oxygen in our blood.

Hard data!

Nicotine isn't want makes us feel bad or harms us when smoking analogs. It's the other 4000 compounds we're inhaling, including carbon monoxide. None of that other stuff is present in vapor so even if you're now vaping the nicotine equivalent of 3 packs a day, you're not getting all the other stuff that makes 3ppd so much worse than 1ppd (or better yet, 0ppd!).
