Just got my first e-cig in the mail a few minutes ago. FWIR while waiting for it to arrive people say you should refill when the flavor drops. The problem is the flavor I ordered premium vanilla doesn't seem to have much of a flavor to start with. I was expecting a strong vanilla taste this seems light to me.

So in the book that come with the starter kit it says 14-16 puffs is equal to one cigarettes, but about how many puffs do you get out of a new cartomizer from V4L.

Thanks

Hey Dreadful!

I live in Portland, OR but I'm a Texas native (born in Austin!). Welcome to ECF!

The standard party line is that a cartomizer is roughly equal to a pack of analogs. However, most of the people here will tell you that this is not always the case! As the veterans say often here - "Your mileage may vary". How long a cart lasts you has a lot to do with how hard you're hittin' it and how often. Personally, I find that a new V4L cart will last me an entire day and I used to smoke about a PAD. If I'm at work (where I can only stelth vape on breaks) a cart will last me 2-3 days. But if you're vaping heavily, a cart may last less than a day. I recall a particularly "stressful" day where I blew through 2 carts using my manual passthrough. So, you can see how variable it is . . .

I tried the Premium Vanilla liquid and like you, found it to not have a lot of flavor on it's own. But I've found vanilla juice from other venders also has a very subtle flavor - so maybe it's just me. However, it's a fabulous addition to other flavors so don't give up on it! I recently refilled one of my empty peppermint carts with my vanilla liquid just to see what would happen. Voila - vaping nirvana! The peppermint seemed to kick up the vanilla flavor a lot. Super yummy . . . .

Cheers and happy vaping!

I can vape about 6-7 carto's a day from V4L but I'm an extremely heavy vaporer. I used to smoke close to 4 PAD. I've never counted how many puffs I could get out of just 1. With a PT, the juice burns quicker due to voltage. Also, I use a VV mod set at 4.5V so I will use more than someone with just a standard kr808 battery.

I use V4L too. I don't know how many puffs you'll get but they last me around 6-8 hours, about as long as the short battery lasts. I go through 2 carts a day and I was a pack-a-day smoker. Put yourself on their email list - they run great sales from 20 to 40% off every month.

I find the vanilla flavor weak also. In fact, I find most of the V4L flavors weak or strange. It takes a while to find your flavors. Try the Wowboy, Coffee, Vanilla mocha frappe. Get Sampler packs to try many different flavors.

I've tried all their 'highly rated' flavors and actually read through the reviews to understand people's reactions. I do think that some of their reviewers are bs, but you can usually get a good feel for a flavor based on a high number of reviews and what people actually say. Their "Most Popular" sort is bull and when you're on the shopping cart, you can't see the ratings.

The flavors have changed over time for me. I suspect that happens a whole lot, one day you love it, the next day you can't taste anything. Partly it's your tastebuds changing. And partly I think their suppliers are inconsistent in the formulations. I haven't tried any other flavor suppliers but am on the verge of it. (Their customer service is beyond compare, tho, and the shipping is really fast.)

You will notice at some point while vaping that the flavor turns odd. That's when its time to toss it. Its the filter that is drying out, getting hot and has lost any flavor. You said 'refill' so I'm supposing you're using a drip tip. The carts get hotter as they lose juice.

This isn't like smoking, when you pay your $5 to $8 and consume virtually the same thing every time - someone has already put all the details together for you and you just accommodate yourself to their product. Vaping is the other way around.

I got frustrated because of the trial and error nature of it but I haven't had a cigarette since I started last October, it costs me less than half what smoking cost, the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience. It takes time to sort it out.

Just want to comment, vanilla is probably my favorite taste in the whole world, and I also did not like the Vanilla cartos at all. The vanilla mocha frappe? Yum yum yum. Very nice vanilla flavor. Best of luck to you!

You can't count the puffs. My puffs are not the same size as your puffs. And most people end up vaping NOT like cigarettes - they end up vaping more often and for fewer drags. I can tell you how long a carto does not last - it is not equal to a pack or 1.5 packs or cigs.

But I actually don't know how long they last because the last thing I want to do is run a carto dry. Run it dry and you can singe it and ruin the flavor for refilling. I want to keep cartos damp. So as soon as the vapor is a bit light or a bit dry or if the carto starts running extra warm, I add juice. I take it off the battery, open it, add a bit of liquid, clean it up to make sure it will not drip on the battery or get juice in my mouth, and keep vaping. I use a V4L carto for 1/2 of my vaping and I can get 1-2 weeks out of each if I use thinner juices. If you were just vaping the one carto that would be 4-7 days.

(BTW - when you pop out the soft cap.. I use an unbent paper clip stuff in just far enough to pop it out because there is usually a stiff loop of wire in there you don't want to damage. I often use a plastic or delrin drip tip on the end of the carto instead of the white cap. Nice shape to vape and easy to remove to add juice)

I agree re vanilla - the only V4L vanilla I like is WOW Vanilla, a sweet marshmallowy vanilla. but it doesn't even matter - a weak vanilla you have is better than having a strong flavor you don't like. Just add more liquid. The flavors will blend and eventually the carto will mostly be the new flavor. You can add any fruit or chocolate or vanilla flavor to a vanilla carto. You could even add a tobacco flavor to a vanilla carto. Vanilla is very flexible. But if you have auto batteries then be extra extra careful that carto is not going to drip before you put it back on your battery.
