Oh, and where can I buy a syringe? I have a lot of empty cartridges and have just received a bottle of Smoke Juice. How many times can you use an empty cartridge? When it gets kind of fuzzy looking on the end, I figure, it's time to stop and get a different one. I'm thinking of getting on the auto delivery program from Njoy. Mark says they are dropping in price soon to $14.95. So if you buy 2 you get one free if you opt for auto delvery, that would be $30 for 3, $10 for a pack of 5. I have found their cartridges do last longer than my E-Puffer cartridges and are a better quality. What are you guys' opinion for the best source for e-liquids and cartridges in the US? Also if I go to filling my own cartridges, what material do you use and how do you fill the empty cartridge after pulling out all of the old polyester?

I got my syringes from two places, 25ml and 5ml from e-cig.com, they were pretty cheap, 1.99 and 0.99. I also got some 1ml syringes from my pharmacist, they are the size used by diabetics so are usually pretty widely available. You might have to explain or even demonstrate to the pharmacist what you want to do with it, they can be a bit .... about selling them to someone they don't know. You can also buy a 5ml syringe that is marketed as a medicine dispensor, they dont have a needle though.

Topping off the cart seems for me to extend the useable life. I suppose it's around about 3-5 complete fills I can get from a core before I squeeze it and chuck it. I get my empty cores from e-cig.com, 0.45 for 5 of them, I reuse the mouthpiece. I'm not sure if the cores from them will fit the mouthpiece from other carts though. If nothing else pulling the unused wadding out of their cores to put into your whichever carts would work too.

The first fill for me is always by syringe, that seems to work the best on a unused dry core, from then on I drip onto the wadding to top up the cart through the day.

The 25ml syringe without a needle I use to squeeze the wadding to make my infamous melange mixture.

The 5ml with a needle I use to either transfer liquid from a stock bottle into my small top off dripper bottle or to fill a number of cores at a time.

The 1ml I only use for filling a single core with a new flavour mixture or for measuring out small amounts for a flavour mixing experiment. I generally only make 1-2ml of a mix each time.

No one has come up with anything better that we can easily obtain. You can buy the E-Cig polyester -- that could slowly kill you -- at any pet store, in the aquarium section. It's used to filter fish water. One bag for about $2 is enough to last 100 smokers a lifetime.

Ruyan says it uses a silcone core material. That would be fireproof, unlike the fires we've created and videotaped of E-Cig's cartridges burning. That is definitely better than polyester.

I wouldn't use anything else that's been suggested: steel wool, rope, natural fibers. You're asking for unknown trouble on all fronts -- atomizer and lungs. As you read this forum, you'll find references to "burn" tests done by a knowledgeable user in the Netherlands. Quite revealing. The bottom line: Buy some Janty cartridges and refill as needed.

I've mucked about with a couple of different options, I tried the rope trick, not overly impressed and it held only a small amount of juice and dribbled, waste of time. I chopped up a bit of sea sponge and wasn't happy with that either, the holes are to irregular in size and also dribbled. I tried the same type of sponge that is used for soldering iron holders, but again the hole size in it was to large and it dribbled.

I bought ages ago a silicon sponge that is used for household cleaning, but it got chucked out. That maybe a suitable alternative, it has very fine holes of a consistant size and for its own size holds a huge volume of liquid. I've got to hunt it out as the store I bought it from no longer has them in stock. More to come on this one.

Hi, Thanks for all the information. Gave me some ideas and did some experimenting. From the Joy of Cooking, 1 teaspoon = 5 ml. It also said 60 drops = 1 ml. So I took 3 different size droppers...a tiny baby medicine dropper. a bottle with a dropper originally for fish medicine, and a turkey baster.

The baby dropper yielded 90 drops to a teaspoon, ie: 18 drops to an ml
Fish bottle was 60 drops to a teaspoon, ie: 12 drops to an ml,
Turkey baster was 12 drops, ie: would round up to be about 2 1/2 drops to an ml.

Using the baby dropper into some different used super mini cartridges with filler, it took between 6-8 drops to fill the cartridge. That is about 1/3 ml per cart.

The cart filler looks like the roll of filter material I use for my fish pond. As T-Bob noted, it can be had at a pet store. Also to note is since fish are super sensitive to many things, (for example, a regular household sponge material can kill fish), one can reasonably assume the aquarium filter material is quite pure in it's qualities.

Syringes could probably also be had on veterinarnian or dog breeder supply websites because breeders & vets use them to administer medicine and to feed orphan newborn puppies.

I have purchased carts from 2 different supplies. One type was enclosed in what looks like a miniture thimble. The other came with a new tip. The former was full of e-liquid, produced alot of vapor, while the others often are dried out & not full. Natch the latter were considerably cheaper. Just ordered a 30 ml bottle of e-liquid from the Ebay seller to fix the 90 cheaper carts....nuttin' like a 'good' bargain, eh? LOL
