Hello all. I am new as a member to the forum but I have been reading up on it for about 1 week pretty hardcore now. From what I have read in this forum I have decided to buy a Provari 2.5 and a pt2. But, I really want to learn more about different tanks and what different brand tanks have to offer. I would like to eventually get into to modding. I definitely want to learn how to mod my atomizers with different threads and coils and what not.

P.S. I am not good with the abbreviations at all. I don't know what most of them mean. Which is a large reason for my posting this. Because I have come to the point that I am reading about what I want to learn, but not learning anything because of all the abbreviations that I don't know what they stand for. Thanks you all so much

Probably need to pull a wick off the top of the coil its prob dry hit not necessarily a burnt hit

uhm, still have a lot to learn here but isn't the pro-tank 2 bottom coil? How does he pull a wick off that?

Is the vivi nova dual coil and pro-tank 2 single coil? I think that will affect the amount of vapor you draw. Also a juice with a higher % vg might help?

Hope someone's able to help you out :)

I am also new to the vape game and i'm looking for tips like what tanks and mods to use. as of right now i'm using an ego-v2 VV battery with a vivi nova mini tank, but I still feel like I want something better. i'm also looking for tips on rebuilding my wick. ive watched a lot of videos on doing it but I have a very reliable source telling me a lot of useful info. right now I need the little metal pieces that hold the wick ( not sure what its called I think they are coil heads ) so I can have a backup wick. I know not to torch my SS mesh wicks and to cook them slowly in the oven fyi but I also wanna do hemp cuz I hear the silica ( not sure if its spelled right) wicks just taste bad and have other health issues involved. any info would be great and thanks for the shorthand guide that helped a lot

Burnt juice is normally a wicking issue. Over-voltage can do it too...for the same reason...you reach a point where it can't wick as fast as it boils away the juice. Too hot too fast. If the coil is starved due to choked wicks or too-thick juice, that's a problem too.

Then there's the dreaded gunk monster...it clogs the wick and coil.

Generalities.

OK so yeah spent most of the day watching PBusardo vids wow learned more in like 4-5 hours today watching vids than in the last 2 weeks give or take of reading on the forum simply because I can actually see everything he is doing so I understand even when he is talking in abbreviations which isn't very often but some what. The first video I watched was on the vivi nova. I didn't realize that it came with 3 different ohm coils I thought they were all 2.5 ohm. No wonder why I burn the .... out of the last atty I put in it I was trying to use I think a 1.8 at 4.8 volts LOL yeah HORRIBLE entire day of vaping the whole time no knowing why the "new atty taste" wouldn't go away but was only getting worse LOL. Yeah I think I like the 2.2ohm atty the best with the vivi nova, but after watching his vid I think I'm going to to rebuild my own atty in the vivi nova. I changed the atty out of the PT2 from the one that came with it in the box, to one out of a pack of 5 replacement atties I bought for it. Still a 2.5 ohm Kanger atty but for what ever reason the pt2 is working fine now. Other than the fact that now that I changed the atty I can't screw the tank all the way down or I get no airflow what so ever. Where as with the atty out the box I got just fine air flow, really weird. But I read about these problems with the pt2, as far as the stock atty being no good and the loss of air flow when you screw it all the way down, on this forum previous the buying it and I learned that buying a Tatroe bottom cap for the tank eliminates the airflow problem. So I ordered everything at the same time, the tank, the extra attics, and the tatroe bottom cap. So now my PT2 is working just fine. But I still think I like my vivi nova with a 2.2 ohm atty in it much better. I will have to order some 2.2 ohm atties for the pt2 and see how that works out. thank you all for the replies too every one on this forum has been so helpful I can't wait until I am a pro like some of you guys and imparting my wisdom on others. Needless to say I definitely think I have found myself a new hobby. I would like to try to get myself a cargo tank too and try that out. And once I have rebuilding the vivi nova atty down I will definitely be trying my hand at RBA tanks too. Any suggestions or comments are always welcomed and will definitely be read I am all about some vaping right now its my new fav thing to do in my off time :D

They are talking about the variable voltage eGo Spinner from Vision. You're showing your newbness. ;)

PBusardo did an excellent review on the Kanger Protank. He recommended to remove one of the wicks from the atomizer head to improve performance. He shows how:

I did a picture dictionary of juice delivery devices especially for new vapors. It includes a description, pics, and a video of the most common delivery attachments:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...k-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

Clearomizers fall into two distinct categories:

  • Top coil/top feeding - these have the long string wicks hanging from the center post inside the tank. This style of tank must be frequently tipped or swirled to keep the wicks wet with juice to prevent dry hits. These are more likely to provide a warmer vape experience. Examples are the Vision Vivi Nova and the Innokin iClear clearomizers.

  • Bottom coil/bottom feeding - these don't have any obviously visual wicks (they are actually inside the center metal tube). This tank's wicks are not fighting gravity like the above, so they are not position dependent. These are more likely to provide a cooler vape experience. Examples are the Kanger Protank and Evod clearomizers.

Cartotanks. Stainless steel tubes filled with absorbant filler wick that surrounds the heating coil within. Holes in the tube allows liquid from the surrounding tank to continuously feed the heating coil as you vape. Many feel this system provides a fuller and more pronounced flavor production. More of a learning curve. Longer to set up.

Cartotank Setup Guide: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-cartomizer-tank-setup.html

RBA or RDA are rebuildable atomizers or rebuildable drip atomizers. Generally considered an item for advanced vapors. High learning curve. Basic understanding of Ohm's Law, owning and knowing how to use a digital multimeter, knowing what batteries to use safely, and learning techniques to wrap your own coils from wire and your own wicks from silica or stainless steel mesh. Do not attempt one of these unless you have done your homework first: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-tips-vapors-looking-try-their-first-rba.html

very cool. I am liking my vivi nova as well. I got the mini tho cuz I apparently don't vape as much as most ppl do lol. which is a good thing I guess. I also have a new hobby and loving all the cool toys and such. I wish I had known about the forum before hand because i'm on my third setup now. i'm liking my ego VV pv, which is the newest addition to my collection lol. my wife is fussing at me for spending so much but the money Ive saved by quitting analogs is unreal. And after all my research and video watching and forum reading i'm definitely not going back to analogs. Big thanks for whoever invented digi's.
