Hi all, I had some safety questions on batteries a few weeks ago. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...8-newbie-bought-new-toys-safety-question.html

At the time, i was using a mech mod, a smok Magneto. I have since bought a Sigelei Zmax v5. Part of my original question was on when you should stop using a battery, how far to drain. And you all helped me out suggesting a multimeter, and i have it. So i learned at about 3.5 to 3.6 is when you should stop using and give it a recharge. I have stuck to this like the bible.

This Sigelei Zmax has a cut off at 3.4 protection. Is this VV mod pushing the limits ?. It has a menu to show it's remaining voltage. I take it out at 3.6-3.5 for recharge.

Guess my question is, can i trust the Sigelei to tell me when it's time to quit, use until it stops, or should i stop using at the 3.5-3.6.

Safety first, vaping second :)

Just to be safe, I'd check the voltage myself. You will develop a feel for how long you have been using a battery and have a pretty good idea how drained it is. Then give it a check using the devices' built in meter or pull the battery and check with your VOM. Running the battery down to 3.4 shouldn't do any serious harm though. Hope that helps a little....

you can google any decent battery (include make, chemistry/model, size, storage capacity: "Samsung INR 18650 20R 2000mAh specifications" -or- "AW IMR 18650 1600mAh specifications") and readily find the "lowest discharge voltage". Always check for your own exact batteries; but you'll often find it to be around 2.5V.
