This is sadly an actual scenario which got me laughing my .... off.

This is what happens when a person who reads too much into things get ahold of a V4L card. Hope yall enjoy.

So have you been put into an awkward situation where someone tries to ridicule you for using an E-Cig? What was it and how did you handle it? most importantly! Did you get them to understand the E-Cig!?

 funny video. :thumb:

Sometimes people ask me how is this helping me quit, but then I remind them I have already quit, it's not smoke, mostly water vapor. I no longer need to quit.

I think I'm finding that a lot of people have not seen the list of carcinogens and other chemicals in their cigarette smoke. I may need to print one someday. I saw one a long time ago, but I forgot where. Iirc, the smoke has something like two to three thousand chemicals in it, including two to four hundred carcinogens.

Oh yeah....I've been told that I just moved my habit from smoking cigs to smoking that vapor thing. Still has nicotine doesn't it? You haven't quit anything but just started another habit.

Yeah I get that one all the time too. So I just tell people, "Yeah, all those ballplayers who switched from chewing tobacco to chewing gum must have all been wasting their time too just nurturing their addiction." I think people just can't stand that we found a way to smoke and enjoy it without the major health risks and bothering the people around us. Its like they can't give us credit because we are still "smoking". I get a lot of supportive people too, but I can't help but wonder why some people get upset that I found a way to smoke without killing myself at the same time.

Yeah, why are people so adamant about us giving up the act of smoking? Nicotine and Caffeine are very similar and I wonder how these people would react if I went into the break room with people enjoying their morning cup of coffee and I ask each one when they plan on ditching their caffeine addiction and the coffee.

I get it too. I get asked when I am going to quit vaping.(or cut down)
Also the switching habits. Upsets me cause I smoked for 25 years but I do not get credit for stopping.

You deserve credit. Vaping makes quitting smoking a heckuva a lot easier, but there absolutely has to be commitment by the person to learn how to vape successfully and beat that learning curve without just pulling out the pack of smokes and lighting up a cig since we all know how to do that. Day 1 of vaping is like heaven, but day 2 through 14 can be very trying and a lot of people find they just aren't committed enough to quitting to learn all the tips and tricks of vaping. We found a way to beat probably one of the strongest addictions one can have. My sister was an alcoholic and a smoker. She found a way to quit drinking and then she quite smoking. When I talk to her about her achievement, she tells me that she does not crave an alcoholic beverage at all, but she says at least once every day she would kill for a cigarette.

Thank you. I have not had a single cigarette in 6 weeks and I just started craving them badly this week! I wont touch them but I do want them.
Good for your sister for what she did! :)

OK guys i got a story which occurred tonight at a TGI Fridays!

So i was out with some friends and i had my e-cig out while i had a beer. Nobody was saying anything until..... DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. The manager pops her head out and sees me taking a hit. RED flag flys up as she comes almost SPRINTING to my table. "Sir there is no smoking here" I replied with the old "its electronic" she said "I don't care, it looks like one could you please put it away" I NEVER argue with anyone over the smoking ban but instead i decided to twist it. I asked her... "Do you smoke" she replied with a"yes, but i go outside" DING DING DING! Got ya!

Out comes my pack of cards and out comes my speech, "have you ever tried one" she obviously had the smoker attitude and replied with a stern "i don't want to quit" DING! 2 pts for me! "I'm not trying to get you to quit, I'm trying to help you. I'm an EMT for the city of Richmond and I'm doing nothing more then trying to save a life" well 15min of talking and questions and I can safely say she had a totally different outlook. She also became less of a ..... :p and went back, as she walked away i could see her reading the card and show it to a few of the people in the back and point to me as she placed the card in her breast pocket.

VAL! If she orders from V4L you owe me a beer! Cuz after that i had to pay me check and go outside for a Vape :p

I've turned to a complainer and "Put it out" in my palm.

hehe i was vaping outside a restaurant when i looked into the window some chick was looking at me and grabbed her nose and then started fake coughing through the glass (Mocking me for "smoking")

I gave her a smug look, took the ecig and rubbed it into my wrist.

I thought her head was going to explode! Jaw dropped eyes shot out and she looked like she was going to puke. It was funny as hell.
