It really all depends on your set up. If you're vaping at say 5 or 6V, than maybe and I mean just maybe, you might get some slight throat hit with 100% VG. But vaping 100% VG at higher voltage increases the chance that some juices are going to taste burnt because of the heat generate at HV.

Throat hit is increased by the following:

Voltage
PG or PGA levels
Nicotine level

Increasing all of these is going to result in more throat hit.

I have a bottle of Blueberry, 100% VG from Northwest Vapors. Its 24mg, so it hits like a champ. At 3.2 - 3.7V I find myself more than satisfied with the throat hit. Like everyone else said, the higher nicotine helps.

This is by far my favourite juice at the moment, but given the fact that its 24mg and I direct drip onto a LR 306, it probably took a lot to get this guy to punch me in the throat like it does.

Boba's Bounty and Gorilla Juice from AVE are both 100% VG and provide what I consider to be excellent TH on all three of my PVs. Hype, which is 10 PG/90 VG also has an incredible TH mixed with a little sour tingle. I should mention I'm vaping all three at 24mg nicotine.

I also have no problems with all three of the above in my Volt cartos. I will say that when used on my REO with 306 atomizer the 100% VG liquids seem to burn up about twice as fast as my BWB liquids which are 70PG/30VG. They definitely last quite a bit longer with a few drops.

All in all though in my short vaping career I've enjoyed the hell out of my 100% VG liquids: Vaperite's VR4, Vaperites organic tobaccos and all of AVE's 100% VG juices are insanely top notch, with a TH that feels a lot less... "scratchy"? chemically? than PG-based juices.

I definitely have to have good throat hit. About once or twice a week, I will vape 100% VG RY4 from Liberty Flights. As long as I am vaping on my 5 volt PV or my variable volt Darwin set at 5 volts, I still get good throat hit. I have not found enough of a drop off in TH from my normal PG liquid to be concerned.

The key is the power/warmer vapor you get with a 5 volt device.
