I usually vape 100% vg or 20/80 6mg nic. My husband needs more of a throat hit in order to keep him vaping.

I bought a few 6mg nic juices, with high PG content, thinking that would do it for him. It improved the throat hit, but still not exactly what he is looking for. Do i need to get a higher nicotine level in order to get the hard throat hit, or can i go up to 80/20 with low nic and get the same results?

6 mg may be low for someone just coming off cigarettes - depending on how many cigs they were smoking...
You may want to add that info here - but it sounds like it may be worth a try getting a higher nic juice for him. You can then "work your way" down by mixing yours with his, etc...

Like Train2 says, if he is just quitting analogs... the 6mg will probably be too low to start with. I started with 8mg, and I was puffing the heck outta that cig-a-like I bought first. Wasn't sure if your hubby was just now quitting though, since you didn't specifically say.

If he can lung inhale like the Dude, go for it. Personally, I've always taken a draw first, then inhaled.

18mg was too low for me when I just got of cigs. 24mg did the trick for me. Mostly I'm still at 24 for my nicotine fix. Some juices I like to vape more of I usually have at 18mg now. Don't see me going much lower than that tbh.

For me personally its not TH that is important for me but vapor production. I like a mild TH but a big thick cloud :)

Nicotine is mainly responsible for the amount of throat hit, PG will also increase it. So a high VG mix, will very noticabley decrease the amount of throat hit. Try diluting the mix with a few drops of distilled water to thin it out a bit- I find this sometimes increases throat hit.

When I quit smoking I started on 24mg of nicotine, and the throat hit was perfect. About 2 weeks later I'd already moved down to 20mg as I was getting used to the throat hit and even finding it too strong. 2 months later and I'm now on 16-12mg and I find the throat hit is perfect :)

Rather than jumping straight to a low nicotine level, try decreasing over time in small increments to adapt to the amount of throat hit.
Hope this helps!

I started on 8mg, found it was too low, wasn't satisfying. Jumped up to 16mg, still wasn't cutting it. Jumped to 24mg... worked much better. Now down to 18mg, happy here right now. Maybe in a few more months, and with better gear, I'll drop that down to like 12mg. Saw a video that Zen put out about using his Zen Atty Pro, and he said in that video that when folks started using his new mods, they dropped their nic level down. I'd imagine it would be the same with more efficient nic delivery devices, and you wouldn't have to spend an arm and a leg to do it.

I am the same, I started on 36mg and went down to 24 I am trying out some 18 now and it is a step to far so I mix 24 with 18 50/50 and that seems about right. But I am using pg so you get a better th anyway. the reductions have been over a couple of weeks so buy sample bottles and see how he gets on. Good Luck.

It's situational as well for me. At home I can easily vape a lower nicotine level. Usually I'll get 2-3 drags and put the device aside for a few min before getting another. At work I'm still going outside with the smokers and obviously can't vape in the same manner so a higher nicotine is needed. So at work I step outside maybe every 1.5 - 2 hours and have more drags. Maybe more like 12-15 at a time.
