Nictrol inhaler cartrages have 10mg pure nicotine in them. IN an emergency , like a ban does anyone have any ideas on extracting the nicotine. Can buy from NZ online without RX. Tha would be 180mg nicotine for about $25.00 (guessing,cost $15.00 for carts) with shipping.

Nicotrol is a prescription product and as such if it's found when it goes over the border so someplace without a FDA license to import it, it will be ceased. But High proof alcohol (everclear) should extract the nicotine out.

do you guys think what youll get from the extraction will be able to vape, would it hurt the atomizer.

Correct me if Im wrong but the everclear would evaporate if you let it sit for a week
then youd be left with nicotine and any other substance. Just add some pg of vg and flavor and bammm you have it. but these other substances left over, would they be ok to smoke, maybe glue, ect. and what about the atomizer?

Yup that would be the best way of doing it and would allow you to weigh the results, just be very careful as per above recommendations and warnings.

There is no glue in a nic inhalor once you take the ends off. I had one years ago and it is sealed and you puncture the end and inhale it.

I never really took a inhalor cart apart, It did not leak liquid or any thing, but they do dry up.

I was hoping maybe someone had one laying around and could give us information, besides my memory.

I don;t think you would have to use everclear.

Taz - I gave it a go a couple of months ago. The core inside the inhaler is a porous ceramic plug that is soaked with nicotine. When you break the seal it begins to evaporate. There's 10mg in the cartridge but only 4mg makes it to the user presumably due to the evaporation.

I removed the plugs and soaked them in a mixture of glycerine and distilled water. Nicotine is soluble in water and glycerine is a solvent so I thought I may as well soak directly. Using high proof alcohol could leave impurities after it evaporates. The cores also contain menthol which is apparently slightly miscible in glycerol and water.

The end result tasted slightly of menthol and ended up being quite weak after adding flavouring. I also lost about 10-15% of the liquid which was absorbed by the cores. I can't remember the exact figures though as it was a while back now.

Scrubadub, thanks, I did not know what was in them, besdes the 10mg nicotine , they say that 6 carts equal a pack of cigaretts.
