Hey, I've been using an m401 for about 2 months now, and I'm happy with it. The attys have been lasting forever because I dip them, but one of the batteries crapped out already. Basically I decided it was time to try something new, so I ordered a mako midi and a bunch of supplies to run it on a 510 atty/cartos. It should be here early this week, as it shipped today.

My main question is how long I can expect the charge one of the 3.6 volt 900mah 14500 batteries to last in between charges. I'm really just curious, because I'm sure I'll have some first hand experience with it by wednesday, but I was wondering if anyone could let me know.

Thanks.

Bill, you know the answer. It all depends on YOUR usage...anywhere from 3-5 hours to all day! the 14500 is considered a big batt.

I read somewhere that with the bigger batteries and mods that you get pretty consistent power delivery over the course of the entire charge, as opposed to the severe drop off with a 401, or what have you, so I'm surprised to hear you guys talking about changing batteries to often because you prefer a fresh charge.

Either way, I guess we'll see what happens when I take it out of the box in a few days.

Should be roughly 2.5-3x the battery life you're getting from the M401. (280 mAh vs 750-900 mAh) Other things obviously factor in but you should notice a pretty drastic difference in battery life.

One thing I always hated about the factory default batteries is outside of the eGo none of them have batteries that are properly designed to handle an atomizer. The smaller the battery (mAh), the higher discharge rate (C) you'll be putting onto it. That alone drastically reduces the batteries lifespan and is why a lot of people are buying new default batteries every 1-2 months.

I thought the m40x batteries were 100, 150 and 200mah (403, 402 and 401) respectively. Which would make the 900mah 4.5x more. But the 510 atty has got to draw more than the 401 atty and since I don't know that difference I can't come up with a good multiplier. But if you really do get 4 hours out of your m401 I'd be surprised if you didn't get more than a day out of a 14500.

You're right on the mAh ratings on a m401, I was thinking of a mega 510 batt for some reason.
