14500s in Parallel?

I'm making a quick 'n' easy little bottom feeder mod for my shirt pocket. I work at home, so the size of my other bottom feeders is not a problem there, but I wanted something small and light for those times when I am out for a few hours. I was a little concerned about battery charge life for a single 14500. I started to wonder if I could increase that charge life by using a pair of batteries wired in parallel.

Has anyone tried this? Are there any gotcha's that I should know about?

You can parallel or just carry an extra battery....

Yeah, you can increase the battery life with this way but you must use the same brand, same size, and same capacity so you will not damage the battery.

Perhaps my best bet would be to use the space to carry the spare battery, rather than wiring them in parallel. It would take the same amount of space either way.

I made a simple parallel 14500 mod and used it a lot before going strictly VV/VW. Best feature about putting the batts in parallel is that it doubles the available current, which does make a difference in performance driving your carto/atty.

Put mine in a translucent blue three AA box, with a bright white LED contained internally. A little gaudy, especially in a low ambient light setting, but it satisfied a whelm, and I got it out of my system.

Parallel is fine as long as they're identical. I've done pretty much all of my mods that way
