I'm not a fan of mechanicals. I enjoy the vape but not the battery life. I don't like when it gets to 3.7 or lower the difference is incredibly noticeable. I use the kts as a holder/ backup.

I'll replace the its with a grand once I sell this crap off and get the rest of the cash

BTW you can just call me Tim. That's what my user name suppose to look like. I know its a pain to type.

Well, now, Supe; there's 2 things I wanna say about this here business. #1: you're a nutcake. I can't believe that you would think that this micro-infinitesimal variation in coil ID would make a difference. #2: what kind of level of vaping are we micro-coil building REOnauts on, where we can actually notice a difference and concur as to it's characteristics?

Yes, there is considerably more flavor here! Yer a genius, Supe!

I couldn't help but tweak the build a bit. I knew I was going to have to drop a gauge, because my 26 Nichrome didn't have that kind of room to spare. Decrease that ID by a tenth of a millimeter, and I knew I was gonna be running too hot. So, as long as I was dropping down to 26 Kanthal, I figured I'd fiddle with some other stuff too. I skewed my coil to rake the wind down the length of it as it crosses over. I didn't have a 17g needle (yet) but I have stuff that's close. A 17g needle is 1.47mm or .0588". I have 1.45mm (.0572~) and 1.4mm (.055). So, I made some variations. (BTW, adding a wrap to my 8wrap26gNich was too big a step.) Trying to show the air hole positioning too, so as to reflect flow.

So, when I comment on flavor, I can't say where the coil size ends and the air flow begins . . . but aside from just more flavor, I'm getting more sweetness and more tanginess.

Here's another one . . .

So, then, allow me to contribute my subjective comparison between my 26 Nichrome .5Ω on a 1/16" ID (.062" 1.6mm) w/ centergap, and a 26 Kanthal .7Ω on a .055" 1.4mm ID w/ slantflow.

The .7Ω coil feels hotter, sharper, and more intense in flavor (esp. high notes)

The .5Ω coil is . . . . . mellower. . . . yep. It has more bass end and roundness to it.

There's a lot to fiddle with here. Somewhere in this range of .055-.062", coil slant, full or centergapped wraps, Nichrome or Kanthal. I've already done 4 variations, and have yet to find my sweet spot.

Here's a pic of my .5Ω go-to wrap, for comparison.

K, soooo, thanks alot, Supe! :glare: All I needed was more reason to fiddle and build.

Noooo, seriously, what I mean is, thanks a lot, Supe! :) All I needed was an excuse to fiddle and build s'more! :p

So, I tried a buncha stuff, and here's where I might just land. I'm liking this one a lot. Being right on the cliff-edge of power packed flavor and staring into the abyss of burning the fuzz off my Hungarian walnuts is tough job; but somebody's gotta do it! (not really) Even the tiniest increment of variation on this build could lead to . . . . . well, an unpleasant vape. :?:

So. What I got here is 26g Nichrome, 9++ wraps on a 1.5mm (.059") ID. 0.6Ω Got my gappage back in there (off center) with the hotter side nearest the hole with my "slant 9" orientation.

(btw; "gappage" is the sound of Italian cabbage being torn open.)

Bodkin, I got ya bro :)

Wohoooo your the best. I think 29 Guage is pretty good but I was thinking to use thicker Guage wire so I can get more wraps. I like mine right around 1.2ohms so I can only get so many years wraps before I need to stop.
