Okay. I have four 18350 batteries and two are from a different company. Mind you they are BOTH 18350 batteries, both protected... Both lithium ion...
But here's where I'm totally confused

One pair of the 18350's is 900mAh
The other pair is 1000mAh
If they are both 18350 batts then why does one pair have totally different mAh than the other? How is this possible and knowing that it IS infact possible, why doesn't the 900mAh battery company make theirs 1000 for quality purposes??

Btw the 900mAh batts are from totallywicked, and the 1,000mAh batts are from madvapes (Trustfire)

Let me know cause I'm hella curious!

simply put it's how the company tests them to determine the mAh ....the *fire brands are well known to be a bit "optimistic" in their mAh ratings...

just like their 300 mAh 18650 batteries that under real world conditions are more like 2400mAh....or their 600mAh 10440 that are realisticly 350 mah...

the *fire #s arent close to accurate

What Drozd said. Plus: a battery's numeric name is merely it's (approximate*) size and shape. For example, the 18350 is 18mm in diameter and 35mm in length. The final '0' stands for its shape, i.e., cylindrical. Within certain limits, it can be made with various capacities. For example, here are the actual measured capacities of various 18650 batteries:

* For example, slightly different lengths (due to protection circuits and button vs. flat top) of the 18650 battery:
