I am sorry to say, but I had to interrupt Rob today, because my boss had seen, what I will get (and still don't have) and then he also wanted a Reo Woodvil 18490, and there Rob mentioned, that tonight he will add new pics.

Sorry Dave! I have just been looking at that bunch of wood too long. Each one wants to be given that first coat, then to be finished. Can't wait to get my hands on one and wax and buff it to perfection!

I'll have to say your WOOD is awfully gorgeous!!! I don't know how red the 18490 will be (the redder the better) as it is coming from Robert's stock. It's hard to tell from pics how red his will become after first coat.

I have a stabilized piece of maple, that I've never sent to Robert, that isn't burled, that looks to be like a cherry red. I'll snag a pic of it, from my server, in a bit to post here.

BTW... the whole downstairs of my house, except for ceilings and floors is various shades/types/patterns of red.

Well, I thought I had gotten this posted. D*mn on-board video, in notebook, is going out. Sometimes I can go a whole day without it blinking out. Past 20 minutes it blinks off every 30 seconds or so. I do have a new board but every time I go to tear the darn thing apart the video fools me and acts good.

Anyway, sorry if this is a double post but I don't see the one I just did. This is the Figured (but not burl) Maple Stabilized I haven't sent to Rob. It's about 8" x 2" x 2". The pic is fuzzy but shows color best and it is a side that has excess infusion material globbed on it.

Thats a beautiful piece of RED wood. Is it thick enough for a Woodvil? If so I'd send to Rob if it were mine. I too have a block I didn't send to Rob. The very first time I bought stabilized wood I ordered 2 (blue/purple) which the more blue one ended up as the Nebula. This one with more purple is waiting in the wings.

Yep, Rob was giving them a good rub down last night getting them ready for finish.

Should have new pics soon I would think. I do hope he take some time off this week though, the man works way to hard IMO.

Hello, I've been lurking in this thread and drooling over the pretty reos.

I saw this show, I think it was on How It's Made, and I think this stuff would make the prettiest reo: Making Heathergems Jewelry & Gifts from Natural Scottish Heather

It's heather that they dye and then press together with some glue and hardeners. Then, when they cut through it all the different colors of dyed heather show.

I wonder if they'd sell a block of the stuff?

Anyway, that's my dream. LOL!
