SEO (search engine optimization) isn't just smoke and mirrors, it really does make a difference. To stay ranked highly in the search engines takes persistence, staying on top of SEO trends because they change quicker than tax laws. A good all-around rule is to have you site written with SEO in mind, making it as easy to read by the search engines' spiders (programs used to index websites by following all the links contained within it). Another good one is to have lots of other websites linking to yours. This isn't to say you should hop into link exchanges and stuff like that, the engines are built to weigh the value of inbound links and any attempts to 'game' the search engines will only net short superficial results and you can find your sites excluded from the engines altogether. If you can get bloggers and such to link to you from their content (not as an ad), you can build up considerable juice and the search engines will rank you higher in the keyword results... which is the ultimate goal of SEO - to get your site ranked higher in search results.

Heh, you'd think from this pitch that I'm the SEO biz - but I'm just a php guy with a lot of focus on the front-end of increasingly larger web publishers and merchants.

Dave, Years ago I had people ask me how I cleaned the pontoons on my boat so I put a webpage up describing the process with pictures of the product I used. It gets a lot of hits and last I looked it came up first on a google search! I occasionally get an email with questions. I no longer have the boat but I have left the webpage up.

Each piece of wood has its own resonant breaking point...needing just the right vibration through the grain to bust the fibers apart. Regardless of whether it is stabilized or not...the wood will break if you drop it just the right way on a hard surface. Unfortunately...there is no way of knowing what drop will break a mod. Fortunately, Rob builds his mods stoutly...and so this hasn't been a common occurance. But it has happened.

OK, I have a shipping number but it needs a signature. I wonder if I go to the Post Office and presign one if that will help. I don't blame Robert for wanting a sig after all the work he put into these nor am I at a lack for Reos to vape in the meantime.

Most mail carriers can be bribed. Put a package of fresh baked brownies in your mailbox with "For my mail carrier" on it somewhere. Then a short note that says "I can't be home to sign for my package from Alfred, Maine. It's hamster chow for my hamsters and they're awful hungry. Merry Christmas!"

Robert is known for shipping with signature required for delivery. There have been problems in the past with missing deliveries.

If someone is not home then a slip is left that tells you when the delivery will be tried again. You can always take the slip to the PO and pick up your package. As long as someone over 18 is home they can sign.

As much as you guys contact him it's a wonder he gets anything done

I just went to the Post Office and signed the form for mine to be delivered with no delay. There is also a form you can fill out that any mail that needs a signature can be signed by the mail carrier when he drops the item off. He'll be bringing it to my mailbox to fill out.

We can hope, but remember, it's Christmas mail time AND the post office is deliberately slowing down service.

Covering my eyes and singing to block out what you wrote! I don't WANT to remember that! lalalalalalalalalalalalalalala, happy thoughts!
