18650 ego 510 adapter charging?

I have a skeleton key mod and my charger is currently on its way in the mail and im just a little bit impatient. Just curious ..could i use an 510 kangertech evod charger that is connected to the 510 adapter and screw the adapter into the mod while it has the battery in it..i tryed for a few seconds and when the firing pin is pressed down the light on the charger turns red as if its charging and not pressed down the lights green...i took it off the charger right away because i figured its unsafe and thought id ask yall what you thought..??? Opinions? (Note im not a genius at eletrical stuff and mods) tis why im on here lol. O i dont know if this is needed but the charger says its output is 4.2 volts 400ma and its input is 5 v ..id think that would be important info

If it is a mech mod it should work in theory if a regulated mod NO WAY!

Yep if the polarity is reversed on the 510 in the mech mod for some reason it would likely not have a good ending.

Don't even think about it. Run away, preferably screaming. Go get a charger. You need one anyway. Trying to charge 18650s thru a USB port is a good way to ruin a battery or mod or both.

Never EVER use a charger that is not made specifically for your device/batteries. You run the risk of something really bad happening!

Thank you all for giving me sophisticated replys..never thought about joining a forum but I joined last night and i already like it haha i didnt charge the battery that way just to let yall know.
