3V CR123a and CR2 batteries are somewhat common. You can often find disposables anywhere they sell batteries, and rechargeables at camera stores. The 3.7V versions of those batteries, along with every other 3.7V rechargeable battery you might use in a mod (including the 18650) are pretty much unheard-of in retail stores. At best, the clerk will never have heard of them, and at worst, he'll claim that they don't exist. It's online sources or nothing, I'm afraid.

PS - 1000th post! :D

hmm just got the batteries do i have to do something special with these for the silver bullet to close completely just feels like they are too big??? i got these if it helps
Protected 16340/RCR123A 3.0 V Lithium Ion Battery

I havent used the silver bullet, but how much is it not going in completely? The protection circuit will add an extra 2mm or so for each battery.

Not sure if you will find them locally. But BatteryJunction.com Batteries, Battery Chargers, Flashlights, Solar Products & more! sells those battery types.

If you were able to find cr123a in a store, they most likely wont be rechargable. Plus most of the cr123 batteries you will find in the store will be very high priced compared to online vendors.

Make sure you get your batteries with a protection circuit built in to prevent over charge, under charge, and short circuits.

I have a set I bougt that aren't rechargeable and unprotected, the 3 volt. I used them about 10 min. if that. Anyway if anyone wants them they can have them. I have no use for them and won't vape with them.

bout 2-3 mm difference...

Then it could quiet possibly be that the protection circuit is what is causing it to not go down all the way. Anyone with a SB that vapes at 6V please correct me if I am wrong.

you have to use rcr123a and not cr123 i dunno

There are some cr123a batteries that are supposedly safe without that protection circuit, I believe they are called Tenergy batteries. They come in the standard cr123 package but are a bit shorter.

hmmmm that sux so i got the wrong ones

I just ordered some 3V's for my SB and they work and fit no problem. These are the ones I ordered:
Tenergy 4
Pack RCR123A
3V 900mAh
Rechargeable
Li-Ion
Battery with
Smart Charger

Tenergy 4 Pack RCR123A 3V 900mAh Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery with Smart Charger

So far, they work great with standard 501 attys or HV 901. I got good service from BatteryJunction. But then again I'm in NJ, they are in CT (I think)

Good luck, the SB at 6V is a force to be reckoned with. Be sure to have lots of juice! It goes quick!
