Well, I had a dead switch and nothing to lose, so I grabbed some pliers and went to work. Turns out that the top is just pressure-fit in place. Gently twisting and pulling got the top right off. Then the switch is set into a plastic cylinder. The cylinder had rotated slightly, so the silicone button was no longer touching the switch. I've rotated the cylinder back in line with the hole in the housing and glued it in place. Seems to work... ymmv.

My circuit board was fried..... I pulled it apart as you said and found the same thing. I plan on ordering an ego t electronics kit and I will solder that back into the original housing.

Pulling the battery side plate off is much easier. Just pop the batter connector out and get the tip of a needle nose in the hole and gently rock back and forth while rotating.

Then a drop of epoxy on the plastic carrier for re-assembly.

Be careful not to pull out the wires when doing this.

Also replacing the existing board with just a mosfet and tack switch works good also. This turns it into a standard 3.7V unregulated mod.

I have also built an unregulated PWM VV board to replace the stock board. I just have to figure out a knob for the adjustment and I will have 3 or 4 of them complete...
