I've been told when they no longer hold a charge as long as they used to.
Depends on the usage , say your vaping 1.2Ω on a mod with two batteries and generally it last you 2 days then when those batteries only get you 2 hours then time for new ones.
Im just picking out numbers here , others may have some tools or formulas they use and some may just renew them after a certain time period.

In rotation, I get about a year or so from a pair. Some last longer, some less. In general I expect 300-500 charge-discharge cycles per cell.

hmmm I have 2 VTC4's that have been in service for about 18 months... they get charged once a day, everyday... and they are still going strong... I thought I had one poop out on me but found out it was a mischarge.... I recharged it and it lasted all day as usual..
