1st mix fail and some help

I tried making my 1st DIY batch and it didn't go so well; I tried to make 8ml and used a calc (with not much luck) I found on here but my measuring was jacked. I used a 1ml pipette and did drops as the syringes I purchased are too large @ 10ml, anyhow I ended up with about 4.8ml as my drops must have been small. I used 2 drops AP and 2 drops of Caramel for flavoring, all I can smell is Frito's, taste isn't so bad so I'll work with it., I used 18%nic VG .... too thick. 107 drops nic juice, 46 drops PG and the 2 drops of each flavoring.

The help I need is with my nic, I have 60ml 18% VG and 250ml 48% PG, any recommendations on mixing some of each and what the final nicotine % would be? I definitely needed more PG in the mix.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

your pipettes should have measurements on them.. Use those, and test with 3mL batches.

which brand of flavoring you're using? it might be that you need a little more flavoring.

do you have any plain pg and vg base? or are you working with just two bottles of nic one pg and one vg?

mixing pg based nic and vg based nic at those two nic levels will give you quite a high percentage.

I've got some plain VG and PG and the flavors are from Wizard Labs, I have more coming from HDV. The pipettes I have a 1ml which is good for the flavoring for bigger batches but not sure about small batches, I didn't want to do a lot at once for fear it may be crappy. I tried to measure the VG nic with the pipette but it was too thick to suck it up. Going through some learning which is good but the nic mixes is kinda hard to figure out unless I keep them separate and go by the calulator. Seeing how thick the VG nic is I thought it may be a good idea to cut it with the VG or maybe even a saline solution.

You should be able to pick up some syringes from a pet shop,they use them for feeding baby birds.
Or you can try WM too.

You realize that you've said you have 60ml of 180mg/ml nicotine in VG and 250ml of 480mg/ml nicotine in PG? I'm assuming you are confusing mg/ml with % and didn't realize it. ECF rules limit nicotine discussion on the DIY sub to 150mg/ml (15% nicotine). (Not that I'd report it even if I thought you actually meant % instead of mg/ml.)

Drops can work, but you'd have to calibrate your droppers with something that has some accuracy. VG will have fewer drops/ml than PG which will have fewer drops/ml than flavoring at the same temp and in the same dropper.

You are correct Hoosier, 1.8% VG and 4.8% PG is more like it, thanks. Definitely going to pick up some smaller syringes to make measuring easier and more accurate, probably the only thing semi-accurate in my first batch was the 2 drops of each flavoring. lol

Just a FYI, your Fritos taste is coming from the AP. Most use that at a drop or 2 per 5/10ml.

Yep, I believe 2 was too much especially when I ended up with less than 5ml when I should have gotten 8ml.... the wife walked by and said it smelled like I was vaping dirty socks lol... the frito smell

2 drops in 4.8ml is to much AP. Should be more like 1 drop or less of AP and 4 - 5 drops caramel. Figure 1 drop = 1% in a 5ml base.
