Hello to all... glad to have found ECF. Fairly new to vaping. Glad to say I'm a EX SMOKER of 40 or years thanks to finding vaping thru trying to quit using the mistick brand. I was marginally successful with them, although not satisfied with the experience. I'm now using a 1300 mah Vision Spinner with a Nova clero, and think it's OK, although I'm still searching for a more satisfying vaping experience I'm vaping 100% VG, and am fine with the throat hit of 24 mg juice. Just looking for more vapor. I'll probably stick with the ego battery till it's time for a replacement I was looking at the ProVari, and just wondering what set them so far apart from say, a LavaTube running with a. 18650mah battery. I mean $ 67 opposed to $200 .... quite a difference. My reasoning being that I'm thinking the cure to my slight dissatisfaction of lacking a huge cloud of vapor being solved by a dual coil setup with a big-boy mod being the answer. So.... thanks for being here, and I'll take any advice to heart being the noob.

Some say the only thing separating a Lava Tube and a Provari is about $150, but the Provari is better quality with a better guarantee.

I wonder why you aren't getting more vapor with pure VG juice. You should be getting clouds. Maybe try a standard ohm (3.0ohm) Boge or Ikenvape carto at 4.8v.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've heard that about Cartos . Just such a pain to fill, and the tank versions I hear leak . But ...... I might just give them a go just to try it out. I do get an OK production of vapor from the pure VG, but have seen bigger clouds of 50/50 from others and was thinking I could do better. I'll try the cartos with pure VG. Tried them with70/30 and wasn't impressed at all.....even running 4v.

Thanks for the welcome. And a special wave to PickyJuicer .... being a neighbor. You and I may have some discussions in the future, judging from your nickname. I have a hard time finding flavors I really like. So..... I'm an ex cigarette smoker, and used to like a good cigar with my bourbon....so,guess I'm trying to duplicate that super thick tasty smoke. I'm sure you can relate. Like I was saying, guess I'll be with the vv ego till it dies. Just poking around to see what other vv mods with replaceable batteries there are out there that actually do what they should. Well regulated, hold there volts till the end, and can handle anything I plug them into without deciding for me the voltage they're gonna give me. I'll take any suggestions on tank/cartoon/atty combos that will help me reach vaping nirvana. Appreciate all who responded, and look forward to socializing

Hi Nomad and welcome to ECF!

I, too, cannot understand why you wouldn't have massive vapor with 100% VG...unless you aren't uppin' your volts to compliment the ohms of your nova. :?:

Regarding the Provari, I agree with mooreted. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE my Provari....it's hefty, reliable and gorgeous! But performance-wise, my Vector VV mini delivers just the same. I can tell you that if you find yourself leaning towards a ProVari...just bite the bullet and go for it! You'll save yourself money in the end by avoiding putting money into something you might not truly want. (Been there, done that....wasn't satisfied until the Provari was mine. LOL)

You should be getting a ton of vapor, but 100% vg tends to clog up the coils/wicks etc. I've learned that adding a little unflavored pg to the mix makes the juice a little looser and it vapes so much better. The throat hit is better with it too - I vape at 12 although I do hit the 18 when stressed or when I find myself chain vaping. It's seriously like a pacifier. I don't even know I'm doing it!

I'm very picky when looking for juices. I have probably at least 100 different flavors and mix them together regularly. I still haven't found that all day vape yet, but I haven't met a juice that I absolutely hated yet either. I have some sweedish fish in one tank, a mix of cherry marshmallow happy b-day in another, a key lime in another and a coconut-key lime-green tea in yet another! I have half full cartos all over my desk and I frustrate myself when trying to decide on my all day flavors, lol.

You may find that you will enjoy a nice honey-tobacco blend. Just always keep it in the back of your head that nothing will replace the flavor of a cigarette/cigar. There is no burning paper, no burning tobacco leaves, no burning period. I think people go in thinking that they're going to get the taste of a cigarette but when they don't get the burnt taste, they give up. Appreciate the juices like a nice wine, coffee or tea. Each one is different - different flavor, different undertones, and different aftertaste.

Where do you get your supplies from?

Wow..... thanks for all the input. Guess I'm just trying to duplicate the thick, huge cloud this guy was expelling at the shop the other day. He was using a cartomizer and probably some massive voltage. I've tried the cartomizer and just not really feeling it. I love the taste with the nova clearomizer. I'm running pure VG in it thru a 2.4 ohm coil at half way between 3.8 and 4.3 volts on the 1300 mah spinner. Any more than that and it starts to taste harsh to me. I do get a respectable amount of vapor, don't get me wrong... maybe I'm just too wussed to handle the hit I would get if I were to crank it up LOL.Or maybe the guy I'm trying to duplicate results with has huge lungs..... who knows? The juice I'm using that I like the best is from Vapor Trails here in Buffalo. They mix it in house...... not sure where they get the base materials from. My fav so far is a virginia tobacco with a touch of wild cherry....although everyone tells me it smells like cotton candy when they second hand smell the vape .

That's the shop I go to as well. There are two other shops we visit on occasion but they are no where as good as VT. I can give you more information but PM me if you'd like it... I don't know if that's considered advertising or not and I don't want to get us in trouble here!

Virginia is my favorite - I mix it with a few drops of English Toffee. I have marischino that I'm going to mix in today to see if that works too :) Thanks for the tip! I'm still on the search for my all day vape.

But anyway, next time you go there, asked for your juices to be mixed r-pg (reducted pg). It's a blend of both pg and vg. It wicks much better and should prevent that harshness. They will also sell you a bottle of unflavored pg upon request. They don't have nic in the unflavored stuff (yet) so any existing juices you cut it with will have a little less nicotine and a little less flavor - it's a good way to use up all that thick vg though!

My husband uses a vmax cranked up to the point where I swear it's going to blow up - he clouds up any room we're in! He uses either a Nova or a ViviNova - depending on his mood. The ViviNovas seem to leak more frequently though.

I just got a Bolt that I'm using a Nova in - mad vapor from that and it's not even a variable volt device. I've also got two Smoovs and several ego style batteries. I no longer have a variable volt device - I dropped mine and just never got around to replacing it.

I have taken some smooth menthol purchased at House of Vapor(30/70 I believe) and cut it with Virginia(0/100) by 50% because it was too strong in the clearo (having sampled it thru a cartomizer). It mellowed it out well, and produced better vapor. I just mixed them in the clearo and rolled it around to get them integrated together. Sure there's a better way to mix? I watched a YouTube video comparing dual coils to single coils, and from what I saw, didn't result in much more vapor, just a warmer vape with more intense flavor (according to the poster) . So, I may abandon my idea of needing a pro style mod to keep the voltage up there with a dual coil. I mean... I am satisfied with the vape I'm getting, it just seemed that a thicker cloud would make it that much better.
