I'm going to go against the majority here and point out that you can't really go wrong with egos.

(Yes, I know all you guys have a 'thing' about 'big manly tools' but give me a chance to explain. LOL!)

I know you said money wasn't your first consideration (good thinking on that) but ego batteries are pretty cheap. They're smaller and more discrete (might come in handy at times). (Also, the smaller it is, the less likely you are to bang it up.) I've dropped mine a bazillion times and never had a problem. And they hang nicely on a lanyard.

They are versatile. They have both the ego and 510 threading so almost anything fits. They're readily available (most stores carry them).

And if your wife is also interested in quitting, you can always pass them on to her if/when you move up to a more 'manly' device. I've found most women (maybe because we're generally smaller) prefer smaller devices. And you can get some really pretty ones. They come in different sizes (from the 'mini' 350 mAh - which are adorable and can be hidden in your hand - up to 1300 mAh) differing only in length.

As for the 'cough when inhaling' - the above posters are correct in suggesting to draw the vapor into your mouth and then inhale (along with additional air). But what I usually do is inhale air along with the vapor. In other words, my lips don't close tightly around the mouthpiece when I inhale so I'm bringing in regular air at the same time. (I smoked cigarettes this way too.) It seems more like 'real' smoking (IMHO).

Best of luck to you. And thank you for your service to our country!

Mark, thanks!! When I 1st registered here after allot of reading, I was trying to avoid the "multi-step" process of small one to better one. That seems to be what most do and then they say they could have had better results by buying better at the start.

I can see the logic in both routes though. I actually now, (after all the great help from you guy's) can see the point of 2 good set-ups for different types of outings, like work and play kind of thing.

I look at it this way. Cigarettes are expensive right? So unless you're buying really high end PVs every week, you'd have to work at spending more than smoking.

I was a fairly heavy smoker myself (though not quite up where you're talking... close sometimes) and it adds up in money. Big time. Since that last big round of federal and state tax hikes, we're at $65 a carton or so for name brand. I was going through a bit over a carton a week average so... $75 a week? $80? Near enough to buy a basic kit like the Spinner/Twist Combo once a week!

Money's tight over here right now so I had to watch what I was doing. Switched kits twice in the first six weeks of doing the vaping thing and still broke even. Since my smoking dropped by 90% (for real, first day, dropped from 2 packs to maybe half a dozen cigs a day... stunned me), since I kept slowing down (without really trying), I bought two or three packs over the six weeks I still smoked at all. So I spent, what, about $21 or so on cigs instead of the usual $450.

So just trying to hit "break even" and not spend any more than I did smoking, I could buy just truckloads of stuff. Then as I figured out what I was doing and what worked for me, I could get by pretty cheap. Have to, I'm kinda scraping right now. :)

I just went and looked, I spent about $93 last month stocking up on plain nicotine juice and flavors to mix in it. I haven't bought anything in a month. Normally, I would have spent at least $300 on cigs by now. Maybe more. I'm almost to the point I could buy a Provari starter kit (the Provari being the ubervapor advanced system :) ) and still break even.

But I won't. I need to do better than just "break even". And I am. $93 in May we're talking about $23.25 a week up against $75 or more a week?

(And I'm only starting to consider replacing some flavorings that I'm most fond of. If I stick with just what I have, like 'em or not, I could skip buying in July which means, what $10 a week?)

My point being don't let the worry that your first kit might not work out stop you. You have to work at spending more than smoking. Sure, you can. But you don't have to. Some enjoy making vaping more like a hobby. Which is great. Whatever keeps people from smoking (and, in the long run, health care is more expensive than any Provari right?).

So you might switch? So what?

You'd have to be treating advanced, expensive systems like the Provari (among others) like "disposables" to really squander money more than cigs do. Heh, remember, with cigs, you're buying something you can't resell. You're buying something you're going to burn up. No "resale" value in cigarette butts! :)

Hi again Western,

It looks like you're already pretty set on a VV tubular mod and (maybe) some twists/spinners--I had original suggested two box type vaporizers, and looked at the wrong ones...if you're still open to a small box-style what I really meant to suggest was a Reo Mod--realized yesterday that I had made a mistake and just wanted to correct myself in case you were still open to it.

Made out of block aluminum, they're almost indestructible. These are the ones I've seen construction guys using:

reosmods.com

I am so gonna get me one of those some day...

Barbara and Mike, thanks for the additional thoughts..
My goal is not to become a "vaper" (nothing against it), I just want to use it only to get out from ALL the toxins. If spending 2-3 times whats cigs cost = I quit, I think it's worth it, but cheaper is always the best if it gets the goal/job done.

I will look into that too Barbara, I know me, so if I get a POS, it will put me off and back to Cigs I go..Just being honest with myself..

Ok, I'm pulling a blank. To me, POS = Point of Sale (but I doubt that's what you mean).
