(sorry no pics at this time)

Okay this is way different than the usual approach here. When fooling around with I new mod I tested the resistance of a bestecigs.com DSE901 atomizer and it came up 2.2 ohms on my old analog VOM. Same with the next. Warmed up it was 2.5. Soooo.....I decided that TWO NiMH batts should be enough, instead of three. I took out one of the three NiMH AA batteries from a Jaaxx Juicy Box I had made, jumpered the slot, and tried it. Still plenty of vapor but it wasn't hot & harsh! Note, these batteries say 1.2 volts but show up as 1.4 when fully charged, 2.8 for two in series, with a reputation for providing high current. Anyway it worked, so it was time for a new mod with AAA NiMH batteries in a AA box.

PARTS (from Radio Shack, I don't care for them much, but it is what is available)

2700408 Black plastic AA battery box w/cover $1.69
2700398 Two AAA battery holder 'open style' $0.99
2751571 PK2 submini PB Switch $2.99
2741583 N-size coaxial DC power Jack w/switch $3.69
2 AAA NiMH Duracell 1000mAh batteries (from Target) 4/ $12.99
and get a 30 minute Nimh AA/AAA charger from RS for $19.99 its worth it

Note about the parts- these little switches are rated 0.5A and 125/250 VAC, have a very low outside profile if you get rid of the silly washer. My new favorite mini switch.
The jack as I have noted before has no electrical connection to the threaded part, you have to make this.

MAKE-

Take out the screw and open up the AA battery box. With small screwdriver and needlenose pliers pry/pull out the battery connectors and break/remove the central plastic divider up to BUT not including the screw-post. The idea is to make space for the little AAA battery holder to fit in. It is a tight fit but doable. Clean out some other of the interior plastic so you have some room but leave the post there so the AAA holder will fit. You will have to shave a little off the top of one end of the AAA holder so the tang on the AA cover will still fit. Next drill out the hole where the original wires came out for the mini switch. Do this with the box put back together Now above this hole on the same end drill a hole for the atomizer adapter you are going to use.

The fit is really tight for the mini switch as well, bent out the solder lugs east and west,
use the wire on the AAA holder to wire it up leaving yourself some slack. You probably want to insulate the wire side of the AAA holder where it comes close to the switch and att connection. Secure the switch, glue down your att adapter, done!

READ ME-- the vapor provided by this mod is much cooler than usual and it is VERY EASY TO POISON YOURSELF WHILE TESTING IT. I DID and it was AWFUL. It just doesn't feel like you are gettting the usual hit so you can overdo it. Before making this mod you may want to try a 2.5- 3.0 volt setup to see if cool is the right vapor style for you. Also check your atomizer resistance since these bestecig ones may be different than yours.

Anyway this is a great little superportable which can fit in a glasses case or cigarette box, all you need is a little bottle of juice and two spare AAA batts if you want. Hope you try it, it a quick and cheap make. ;-)

Hey Vslim

Hope Your Feeling Better, Nice Little Right Up! ;)

I Know U Said No Pics, But Maybe When U Feel A Little Better U Can Post a Few Pics To Go Along With The details.

Thanks For The Info For The Modders! :D

Keep Modin & Be Careful!

Thank you Cellmeister, I am fine, just a real scary half-hour living it down. The mod looks like your AA battery box mod except that it has a two AAA holder inside and the switch and atomizer stick out of the split end of the case (screw end). Will have to buy a camera for the pix my webcam didn't hack it. I am guessing the atts will last longer on this one since they don't get as hot.

Hey VSlim,

Nice Job!

Almost Like Mine (I Had To Take Pics Down, Being Patented), But I Have The AAA Style Box, (1) 3.6 volt batt, LED, Fused, Rechargeable, Easy To Remove Battery and I Put a Mini-USB Port For Re-Charging (Optional Re-Charging, I Just Pop A Charged battery in it).

It's Actual My Favorite Vaper, Last Up to 5 Hours, Tons of Vape, Light, Very Efficient and Tiny!

Nice Job!

Keep Buildin!
