Hi All - My first post to the forums and i wanted to say that it has been 48 hours since receiving my Vapor King from V4L and have not had an analog cig since.

The e-cig has been great, still getting use to it, but so far so good. I was a Newport Light smoker, about a pk every 2-3 days, and the e-cig has satisfied my urge even while drinking alcohol! I don't drink often, but the hardest habit to kick for me has been smoking while drinking. Even when i stopped smoking for 3 years, i would cheat when drinking.

I ordered the Vapor King with menthol carts, Nuport 18mg and Menthol coolcart sampler 24mg. I started on high nicotine counts just in case, but the throat burn is pretty harsh and i am wondering if that is due to the high nicotine levels or just me getting used to the e-cig?

I just placed an order for more carts and 1/2 the order was for 11mg carts. Has anyone had any bad experiences switching from 18 or 24mg carts down to 11mg?

Feedback would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome, spits! WTG on 2 days! The harsh TH could be a combination of things, including the nic level. If the juice has a high percentage of PG, that will create a stronger TH. You can also get a bit of a sore throat while you're adjusting to vaping. Just make sure that you're drinking plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated because vaping is dehydrating.

Congratulations spits!! Great to hear you're enjoying your new vaping experience. I haven't had the nerve to lower my nic levels as of yet, but I've heard that too high of a level will irritate the throat. And, yes, vaping does take a little getting used to for some. Again, congrats and happy vaping.

Great job. I bet you could get away with lower nic levels. 1 pack every 2 or 3 days is lite smoking. I was a 2 PAD and after 30 days I am down to 12 & 6 mgs of nic and I am doing a little bit of 0 nic. You might want to try some different flavors. I didn't think I would like anything but analog flavors. I was wrong. I tried a cigarette flavored cart last week and didn't like it.

Congratulations Spits! I have moved to lower nic levels, and like it for several reasons. First, I vape more than I smoked, and I did not want the higher nic levels. And the TH is more at a higher level. I started at 18 mg, and now I prefer anywhere between 6 & 14mg. I have also tried 0 mg, and it is just flavor; it's okay, but a prefer the combo taste that comes with nicotine.
The hunting is alot of the fun!!

The V4L Premium carts get pretty hot and people who like those say they give more throat hit. Their Coolcarts (which may be the same as the Boge-made KR808D-1 cartomizers) are cooler on the lips and less TH. I like the Coolcarts much better - plenty of TH for me and nice on the lips. Unfortunately, with the prefilled cartos at V4, it's hard to tell what is in a Coolcart and what is in a Premium. I think some WOW carts are Coolcarts (my 555 seemed to be) and some are in Premiums. They also sell empty carts.

Another thing that will add to throat hit is the kind of flavor and the amount of nicotine. Menthol is the kind of flavor you are going to feel in your throat. If you start to mix your own carts, some menthol lovers find a tobacco they like and mix in a mint or menthol in whatever amount they like.

Something else you could try are flavors with vanilla (like 555 which is vanilla and almond tobacco and RY4 which is vanilla and caramel tobacco). I find vanilla has a soft cool TH. You could also try a mint chocolate flavor if they have one.

WOOT! Congrats, Spits, and welcome to ECF!

When I first started with my pv (a standard 510 manual), I wasn't getting much vapor when puffing on it like I used to puff on an analog (draw the vapor into my mouth, then inhale). So for several days (until I discoved the ptb mod) I inhaled directly to my lungs. Produced great vapor and a lot of TH - too much! For a few days my throat kind of hurt.

Then I discovered cartos - thanks to a forum-friend of my husband's sending us each a carto filled with his favorite juice, AND a order mix-up from one of our newly found vendors (they accidently sent us 5 x 5 packs of cartos instead of the 5 atty's we ordered - OOPS, but good for us!). Now I'm back to the "draw vapor into mouth, then inhale" method and no more sore throat.

Congrats! I'm also noticing a fairly harsh TH with the e-cig. I think I'm going to fine tune things with lower nicotine levels (I got 24mg, which I think is too strong for me) and more VG in the mix. I got some unflavored VG that I'll mix with the juice I have to smooth things out. If that isn't enough I'll go with higher resistance. I got some 2.4 ohm cartomizers, but I think I'd be happier with 2.8 or even 3.0 ohm. I hope it will give cooler vapor and let more flavor come through.
