After what happened with the mod and the tenergy LiFePo batts decided to put the OMG through wringer to see how safe it was. I didn't drill out the vent hole prior to doing this to negate all variables. In less than 2 days time went through a grand total of 69ml's of juice using the DCVT tank at 1.5ohms. Quite a few times the device would give me the seven flashes and stop working, which is a good thing. Went through 5 battery changes on day 1, and made it to 3 on day 2. At around it's 26th hour of consatant use the switch area got hot and the 7 flashes took place. Took the batteries out of it, they were warmer than one would like but hadn't expanded or blown up. Left them out of the OMG for an hour and then put them back in. There was something wrong with the OMG though, it wasn't hitting like it used to. Had to wait until I got home to check the numbers with a fresh set off batts. Sure enough was only getting 4.57v on load with it and a DVCT. About an hour of use later there was continueing drop in performance. Checked again, now was only getting 4.12v on load. Put in fresh batts again, tested it on load, same results. Put in an unused set of freshly charged batts, still same results. After another 30 minutes of use it just wouldn't fire at all. Bad news is, killed the OMG. Good news is it didn't explode. A few things have to be pointed out-
1) No one should ever put this kind of strain on the mod. This was dangerous and stupid but felt it had to be done. Knew what to look out for, but was still taking a risk. No one should attempt to recreate the test, if you do it's at your own risk.
2) It's obvious there was cell degradation. When I started could get about 135 minutes or so of use out of the OMG with the the DVCT, by the end was only getting 90 minutes. There's no doubt that running at that high a current on these batteries is too much for them long term. A degraded cell is dangerous. Can not stress enough to not chain vape with the 1.5ohm dual coils. Personally suggest everyone who uses the OMG buy the 2.0 and 3.0 ohm replacement cartos for use with them.
Hope this helps.
