I'm rockin' the black diamond shorty, love it, and I prefer the balance of it in my hand. The short charge is a problem, but that just means I need more of them. .

Joyce, Dawn, and MMC: thanx for the response. i too prefer the balance of the shorty. with the standard length i get the dropsies. it's just a little too front-heavy, and being an unpainted aluminum finish, it slips out of my hand occasionally. i can't wait to try this new version. i hope they sent my shipment before the big storm shut them down!

do those of you experiencing running out of power with them, use a PCC? i ALWAYS carry my PCC, and when it's not in my mouth, it's on charge. (the batt, not the PCC, lol) i have NEVER run a battery dead. but i AM looking forward to a new PCC which can carry two batts. hopefully someday soon.

Got one to see if i like driving with it better. Yeah, it's great and no problems except that i wouldn't take it on a long roadtrip without backup.

i highly recommend a manual pass-thru for the car. get a good quality USB cigarette lighter adapter that is rated 4.5-6V and at LEAST 500mA - 1A (1A = 1000mA) Then you can power the pass-thru as well as charge most cell phones and GPS units with it. (1A-2A will power most newer smart phones.) sure there's a wire now, but the wire actually makes it easier to find while driving, because you can "reel it in" without having to look down and fidget in a console pocket or glovebox. save your battery power for portability, and use your car's battery when you're in your car.

+ 1 tj - got one from V4L already, but the PTs are for back up. 35+ years of habits and it's snow bird season here - drive, cuss, vape (not necessarily in that order). Got a nice big soft cup attached to the vent to keep the pv handy.

I actually gave my Pcc and one of my batteries to a friend to get her started as she didnt have the money to get a kit. I ended up getting a bloog Pcc while waiting for the new v4l xl Pcc to come out. I liked that you could charge one battery and have another shorty with cartridge attached stored. Should have just waited for the xl Pcc. Rarely use it, doesn't fit my diamond shorty, and I rarely use my bloog shorty that it works with. I am be the one person that doesn't think bloog is the latest and greatest. Like all of my v4l batteries better and my v4 life cartos and my v4 l service

The only issue I have with the new batts is the fact they're autos and I'm scared to use refills on them. I don't want to ruin my new preciouses.... Especially since I named one after my favorite star wars film (empire strikes back), yoda, and now two King Diamond albums (xl is the voodoo, reg is the eye). Once you name it, well you know....

Ms. Joyce I have a pcc as well that doesn't get used. It's charged for emergencies, but it not being to carry multiple batts stops me from replacing my normal cc.

i think one of the key factors in keeping autos from failing is to not leave a carto on it when you're not vaping. because i always carry my PCC, i'm also always disassembling and storing the cartos separately. i keep a condom to cover the mouth end of each, which keeps it clean if i accidentally drop it, and keeps it from rattling around in the PCC.

when i first started refilling, i'd always overfill and have to blow them out. now i'm using a syringe, so i know what i'm putting in there, and can extract some if its too saturated. then to follow up on that, before i put them in the PCC, i use a passthru or XL battery to do a few vapes on each carto. if there IS a little too much juice, i'll vape it up before i go mobile. i've only once had a droplet's worth leak into my PCC from the atty end of a carto.

also, i always put my PCC in my pocket such that the cartos are stored horizontally. i don't want the juice to run to one end or the other.

so i suggest for autos, to use some sort of carry case and get into the habit of disassembly. it may save a batt.
