You all are making me so antsy to get mine! I ordered first day of sale and was hoping against hope they would get there Friday (which was pushing it, I am sure!) More then likely they are in the mailbox at work so should have them tomorrow morning! And maybe the ones I won on Tuesday! And from the way they look like they draw from Dave's video, it just might turn me away from the manuals! Will this die hard xl manual girl turn to an xl auto girl? Stay tuned - same bat time, same bat channel! 
I switched to only manual XLs about a month ago & gave my autos to smokers, but these new batteries are just wonderful. They also look awesome. Got some more coming. Thanks Steve, ya keep me smilin' alright!
I love the look of my old red metallic. Seems that is the only metallic choice though (although some look kind of metallic in the picture, they are not labeled as such). I don't want another red, so maybe I'll wait and see if more colors are offered in that finish.
I ordered red, purple, green, and black and all are metallic except the black. Hope this helps.
I got the red with red led and it's a beautiful metallic red, not the 'tomato' red.
Wingnutter, sorry, but probably not. The new XL's cost more than the other XL's. But you can always email customer support and ask.
Hmmm..,I ordered a starter kit for my girlfriend last night, the new batteries is what ultimately convinced her to try em....Id be willing to pay the difference in cost if need be...
I submitted a ticket via the V4L site, if any V4L reps here happen to see it, the ticket subject is "order #131640"...Id really like to get the new batteries in this kit if possible. If so, I'll be ordering a 2nd kit later tonight.

It does help, thanks. Red is a very nice deep red. The blue looks like a nice shade too. Maybe purple. Decisions, decisions....
While everyone's monitor is different and color correction may not be perfect....the picture on the 1st page of this thread is pretty good for judging the colors of these batts. All of these except the black are "metallic."
Starsong, I love the metallic red, too! I have a blue and purple XL and regular, and they are metallic too. Very pretty. Hope that helps.
Now if they only offered batteries in carolina panther blue. The nuport cool carts are pretty close, just want a batt that color.
Got my new batteries today and I LOVE them. My poor little other batteries are going to sit in their cup and get very lonely. These babies work so fine ! Must have MORE (every color, I think) !

Just checked the USPS tracking and my new blingy-batt should be waiting in the mailbox for me when I get home! Just placed the order on Friday...damn you guys are fast!
Have to wait until wednesday.... Not so concerned with the bling as with the function. Everyone keeps saying how much they compare to the analog experience.
