As far as touching or not and how it relates to cotton.....Usually a touching coil will heat faster as all the coils are touching. Its basically making a solid heating element vs a coil. Its usually easier to feed cotton through it also. As far as vape difference between the two im not sure if I can tell and making touching coils takes some practice and time as your going to have to heat them up and squish them between something. In my igo-w I usually heat them up with the device and squish them with a tweezers or a needle nose pliers then feed the cotton threw and prime it, let it soak for a bit.
