Hi all,

I'm basically totally new to vaping and i just ordered my very first e-cig from SI volt.

I noticed there are 2 types of vapors around here. One type are those that take up vaping to quit analogs, and another group that seems to spend crazy amounts of $$ to vape.

I'm just hoping to get my first e-cig a try to totally put off analogs. Any advice from seniors here would be great!

Thanks

lol I think you'll find All members here want to get off the cigarettes/smoking tobacco. And a fair amount of them like to spend lots on some Fantastic devices and others want to try everything that's new, and others just like sticking to what works for them.
Different strokes for different folks.

Welcome to ECF:)

Help you quit smoking with your e-cig? Herm. That question is probably the hitter if your just starting.

When I started vapeing, I didn't cut myself off from analog's. I vaped AND smoked for awhile. Maybe a week or two? Maybe even longer! Then I found myself putting my analog's in another room in the house, and leaving my PV right where I could grab it! If ya have to go and FIND those analogs, it kinda gets to be a pain in the ...., easier to just vape through the craving. Keep at it and eventually (like myself) you'll find you havn't smoked an analog in DAYS.

For me it's nto about the DAY I quit smoking. It's about me NOT smoking! I still smoke on very rare occasions and mostly to be sociable (who'd have thought?) and I don't think I've smoked a whole analog in a year. I kinda just hold them while they burn up in my hand /grin. Makes your fingers and clothes smell TERRIBLE LOL

Decide how you want to quit, or even if your goal is quitting or just cutting down! Make a plan and don't look BACK!

Welcome! I guess I'm one of those who fit into both catagories. I started vaping for health reasons. I have sever COPD. Once I got started vaping I got hooked. Now I spend all day long looking at all the shiney new toys. I guess I'll stop when I run out of money. Good luck and stay with it.

I started vaping to stop the use of cigarettes. I accomplished that 2 years ago. The bonus was the long term money savings. I did a quick calculation and in the last two years I have saved roughly $3,000. I have two Provari's, a Zap, Omega, Prodigy, 5 HH357 atomizers, a multitude of batteries among other things. I have owned a couple other mods but I have sold them in the past. I also make all my own juices so it is a cost savings also.
I did not do it to quit the habit, I just did not want cigarette chemicals any longer.

I am "both types". I started out with the wrong type of e-cig, like a lot of vapers who didn't find ECF first. Found something better, bought it, then something better, and bought that, etc., etc. A year ago I purchased a LUX from ModernVaper, and some CE2's from Mad Vapes. Now, almost two years into this I figured there must be some newer, better technology out there so I'm back here at ECF. Just purchased a KGO from Hoosier, and some Phoenix Reborn bottom coil carts from GotVapes. It was time for an upgrade. Not looking to mod just something to vape easily. Good luck on your journey. I'm sure you will find yourself in both categories at some time or another.)

Howdy folks,

I just got tired of inflicting the smell, ash, money spent, etc, on my family. Never really wanted to quit. It just so happened that when my first kit got here, I had 2 cigs left. Smoked one while I read thru material received and starting charging my first batts. Never got around to smoking the las cig. Threw it away a week into vaping and have not looked back. Did this after about 30 yrs of smoking.

There's still times when I HAVE to have a smoke, and instead I non stop vape. I vape a lot, no that's not correct...I vape a LOT. Even being into vaping only a couple of weeks, I feel better, maybe not cause I have switched and now vape, but because I'm doing something (for the first time in years) about my smoking.

Good luck, no need to force the change, put your cigs in another part of the house and your favorite vape right next to you. Smoke in the cold or hot garage, vape in your favorite room in the house. Smoke and only smoke, vape while you enjoy your coffee, read your book, look at the newspaper.

I started e-cigs to quit smoking. And SI was one of my first e-cigs, too! After awhile...when I saw how much money I was saving over smoking I started "justifying" getting more and "fancier" hardware. I'd tell myself: "Self...lookit there! You have $160 dollars in your bank account that you didn't spend on cigarettes that got used up and the butts thrown out. How about investing in a new vaping toy? hmmm??? Yeah...that's a good idea!!" And so it goes......

I started at 18mg. but am now at 5mg. and probably will drop lower. I doubt I'll quit vaping however...even if I end up at 0mg. nicotine.

I'm also a bit of both. I started to quit smoking. Mission accomplished. Then I began looking into other PVs and feeds to enhance my vaping experience. I don't think I've spent a crazy amount of money, but I've definitely not stuck with my original ego/clearo combination. I'm probably just barely breaking even after 3 months, and have enough stuff to last a year now. Will I be buying more when I can free up the $ for it? Yerp. Do I need to? Nerp. I like my toys and vaping has become a hobby, along with a healthier alternative to cigarettes.
