I strongly disagree with tanks too. Terrible for flavor. mutes it down is messy and when you want to change flavors you either have to change atomizers too or clean the atty out which to me is a pain when you can just switch cartomizers.

I just got my kgo yesterday and it made all the difference. I bought the 1.5 ohm dual cartos and yummy flavor is awesome.
much much better then the crappy 510 tank system i had. to each his own though some really like them
I strongly disagree with the tank suggestion. A few like them but the forum is filled with frustration from Ego-T tank users with leaking problems, lack of flavor.... yada, yada. You did great. I get asked about my PV often in public. I share sites that sell KGOs with a short list of the supplies and juice they need. Every one of them (over two dozen) have switched from analogs to vaping with little effort using the KGO. Egos and Rivas are fine, too. Kgo has more power and the battery lasts longer and is less expensive so I'm a big fan.

I quit a 40 year habit. Reds.

Did it with a Reo Mini, AW 14500 high drains, lots of em. A Cisco 306lr atty. Now, there are glass tips. I only had plastic when I quit.

Towards the end of my quit, i was rolling three castles knockoff. Good knockoff, moist. I sprinkled bourbon on the tobacco. Rolled it on 1 1/4 Rice papers. Exotic paper. No glue. Smoke isnt goodnfor you though. Burning carbon matter makes tar which accumulates in its original sticky form and attaches to your cilia. Its not a good thing. Run away!

Start vaping ikv gold on 3.7v in 24mg nic in a 306lr, and if you have to smoke, roll one of the tobacco above. Once I started vaping regularly i had a rollie, and it tasted like what a dogs ash would taste like if one was ever tasted.

So now, 80 days without burning anything, i vape a Reo Woodville, full size, paduak and white ash burl, with rcr123 3Vx2=6V

Hot hits, warm vapour, nice tobacco blast with a slightly sweet nut aftertaste, then smoked oak. Thats the ikv gold man.

Like paul once said. Don't Smoke!

For juice, I only use Ikenvape PG 24mg, ry4 Gold

Newbie to the forum here
I've been smoking analogs for about 16 years now and I'm turning 30 in the middle of November (I'm actually smoking as I type this) started with new ports then some designer, cloves, marlbro reds and settling with marlbro milds for about 8 years now (so if anyone can recomend a good substitute e liquid I'm open to suggestions)
I've been a been a pack a day smoker since I started and at my worst a 2 pack a day smoker for about 5 years
I've tried to quit in the past using the patch gum and even hypnosis but none of these methods have ever stuck.
Even tried some of the cheaper e cigs a yearago (the kind you can pick up at 7 11's) and never felt the satisfaction of an analog
After watching dozens of videos about the advances of the e cig and reviews on different ecigs out there i ordered the kgo starter kit and a couple of extra carts and e juices to get me started. The entire order costing me less than the amount I spend on analogs in 2 weeks.
Hopefully the mailman comes bearing gifts today.
I'm basically going to be using thread to track my progress in hopefully quitting analogs for good.

Well... wish me luck... btw I smoked 3 analogs in the time I took typing this

Congrats and good luck.

Might I add a suggestion, see if you can find your local "vaper club" and head to one of their meets. I'm not knocking the forum and all the videos out there, but there's something about seeing somebody in person. As a bonus, you may be able to sample some other juices at a meet.

Best of luck to ya. And don't put too much pressure on yourself to immediately give up cigs. Set your own pace. If you stick with it, eventually (if it doesn't right away) you'll quit smoking.

In my last post I said that there was an error in packing the stuff I ordered
basically it was missing some components in the starter kit, it wasn't boxed, missing an extra battery that should have been included in the kit along with some atomizers , an extra cone I ordered, the instruction manual (which i actually always read cover to cover including legal notices) and most importantly the charger.
I should have just left the package alone so in case I had to work out any issues with the vendor or have to return it there would be no problem.
Problem is, when I get a new toy in the mail I get really impatient and want to play with it, plus I already planned to go movie hopping last night and just the thought of not being able to feed my nicotine addiction for up to 5 hours really got me antsy.
So I cracked open the battery that was delivered, pressed the button, and was happy to see the cool blue light glow. Opened a 1.5 olm dual coil cartomizer and starter filling it with some valilla cola that I ordered using grimmgreen's instructions of three drops, then shake like a thermometer until it was full. Popped on a drip tip screwed it into the battery and then the cone over the carto.
And now the moment of truth, pressed the button held it for a second and took a longer harder drag than the way I normally smoked an analog since I wasn't expecting much. I immediately felt a huge warm kick to the back of my throat, which caused me to start coughing a lung out.
After about a minute of coughing and gagging and 2 glasses of water I went outside and proceeded to light up an analog to catch my breath (smokers logic I guess).
`to be continued, gotta run some errands

Don't worry, Heart Attack. The first time I tried my first PV (a straight up eGo) I coughed too. I really was not expecting the throat hit it gave me. And I was only using 18mg on a straight 510 atomizer. I can't even imagine how much more it would have caught me off guard if I had a dual coil at that time!

Just be ready for it next time and take smaller, slower drags until you get to feel your way around the strength.

so i think im getting the hang of using my kgo
started to take slower and longer draws. and now know not too take too long of a draw so the vapor doesnt get too hot.

at the moment i'm only halfway though a pack of milds i bought saturday afternoon. which i think is pretty decent considering that i smoked a pack and half this past friday. from 30 analogs a day to an average of 5 a day, not too bad. i'm not really relying on my k go yet because i dont really know how much of a charge is in the battery and it can go out any minute now without notice

i also noticed that with every passing analog i smoke it's like the taste gets worst and worst. i cant even imagine chain smoking anymore.
another thing i found pretty interesting is the fact that i'm shying away from the tobacco and mentholated tobacco e liquids i ordered and instead leaning toward the sweet and fruity flavors. i found this pretty weird because my pallet has always geared toward more savory flavors.

i had an email waiting in my inbox from the vendor this morning telling me that they were really sorry for the error in shipping and would be sending out an entire kgo starter kit today and to just keep the extra battery for my trouble. and by the time i made my morning cup of coffee i received a shipping notice from usps
all i have to say is WOW !!
when OrthodoxAtheist said that the sellers in the e cig market would work their @$$ off to get my order to me he wasnt kidding. the last time i received customer service this good was when i accidentally flashed a gangsta wad in a strip club :p

edit: i just read this post
sorry if this post seems all over the place and scattered but i couldnt really figure out a way to transition from nearly throwing out my kgo saturday afternoon to thinking my previous analog of choice now makes my stomach turn and then finding out how truly awesome the customer service is among pv sellers

Last time I flashed my gangsta wad at a strip club, they threw me out. I was so furious, I didn't even go back for my pants.

Good on the vendor for making things right though -- looks like you got some bonuses for your trouble. Now you should be all set and then some when the proper kit arrivse.

I too thought I'd prefer tobacco flavours when I first started -- so much so that I got 3 30ml bottles of generic tobacco-flavoured juice with my eGo. Turns out I ended up not really liking tobacco flavours and started really digging coffee and dessert flavours. (I still tried a few different tobaccos over the first couple of months, but try as I might, I just couldn't get myself to dig it.) I guess it's natural to assume that you're supposed to like tobacco flavours, since that's what you were smoking before, but when it comes right down to it many of us tend to prefer mouthfuls of flavours of stuff we'd actually eat. :)

Tobacco juice never really tasted like a cig, which is likely a very good thing.
Oddly enough I've found I like menthol (no tobacco added) straight up as one
of my go to vapes. And I NEVER smoked menthol.... :?:

Yup :) I smoked menthol for 30+ years. When I made the switch to e-cigs, I of course purchased a menthol cartridge. Ah well... a total waste. LOL

Now what I prefer is a good, smooth caramel / butterscotch blend [yummy!], and of course, my favorite stand-by Watermelon Jolly Rancher. I never dreamed that quitting the analogs could be so much fun!

I'm not very far ahead, yet... It's been about 5 days or so [not sure without checking the calendar - until I get 15 posts I can't use a counter :( ] But I can tell you with authority that ditching the analogs was the best move I've ever made. Funny thing is, at 2 packs a day I expected to go a little nuts... But so far, I'm cool with it.

It can be pretty odd switching to vaping, as there's no real parallel between how much you vape and how much you smoked -- not even where strength is concerned. One of the guys who does YouTube videos here, cozzocon, began his videos demonstrating that 5 packs were a 1.5 day supply for him, yet when he switched, he was cool with 18mg liquids, and doesn't go through much more than average. For me, I think mine panned out kind of the same; PAD smoker, vaping about 3ml of 24mg a day, which I think it's kind of average (if maybe above average in nic content).

It's so familiar, yet it is its own world.

Yeah, Michael was kind of my inspiration to keep vaping in the earliest days. When I found his videos it was like, "Crap, if a 3+PAD smoker can completely get off with a couple of gas station cigs and a 510, anyone can do it regardless of how much they smoked or for how long." Plus his videos in general are good to watch. Very down-to-earth guy. Hope things are going okay with his family illness.

GL Heart Attack. I started vaping 3 days ago. Smoked for 27 years. In all seriousness I never intended to quit because I enjoyed smoking until I got out of the Marines and noticed my health starting to go down hill. (lack of excercise imo) After alot of nagging from my wife I tried to quit using patches, cold turkey, gum, pills, etc. with no success. The other day I was at the flea market at the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. I saw a booth called Misty Mt Vapors and the lady explained what a e cig was and how it worked. I wasnt going to buy one but my wife insisted I should at least try it since she knocked 5 dollars off the total. To make a long story short I stopped smoking analogs this past saturday and havent even had an urge to smoke one since I started vaping. I have not felt this good in years. It is nice to have my smell, taste and energy back.

The other cool thing about vaping is its a hell alot more fun! All the different flavors, e cigs, mods, home brewing juice; alot more possibilities than going to a gas station and asking for a pack of Marlboro's. So GL and hope it works out for you =)

Congrats, Prophet! Your wife knows a good thing when she sees it. :) 3 days isn't long, but it's easy to carry that out to 3 weeks, months -- years. It's a lot better for you, and it actually makes the activity one relegated to smoking pleasurable. Moreso than smoking ever was.

Best wishes, I'm trying to quit smoking myself. A friend here sent me a 510 and i'm looking forward to trying it. I tried to quit 3 weeks ago and broke but managed to get down to 4 cigs/day. I want to try again to quit to detox ant then vape. And i'm really curious about all the flavours of ejuice available.

Wishing you the best of luck. I'm right there too! :)

again i want to thank everyone for their words of support and congrats to everyone who's quit analogs.
and i have to agree w/ VaugeProphet vaping is defiantly a lot more fun. ive spent the better part of my day watching e liquid reviews on youtube and clicking though online vendors looking for e liquids to try out.
so about 5 hours behind my laptop and about 4 vendors later ,lets just say in about three days im expecting another kit a handful of cartomizers and enough e liquid probably fill up my night stand drawer

so it looks like im going to be stopping by harbor freight tomorrow to look for storage solutions
