On Feb 10, 2012 (two years today) i got my first PV. A V2Cigs kit. Yep, overpriced, and certainly not the best PV ibe owned. But still good enough to do what nic gum, patches, professional help, and pure willpower had failed to do before. Get me to completely & permanently QUIT smoking.
And when i say completely i really do mean completely. I can honestly say i have not had a single cigarette, not even a single drag in two years.
I apologize for bragging about this, yes i am in fact bragging. Please understand i am proud of pulling off what i tought was impossible for me. To really quit smoking.
In these 2 years i went thru the "ladder" of PVs, from my V2s, 510s, to eGos, cartos, clearomizers (man did i buy a LOT of those!), to my current VV/VP mods with RBAs. Did i spend money? shure! but even with all the stuff i bought, math doesnt lie. I would have spend more if i had continue to smoke. And besides, my health has improved a lot, i can now do cardio at the gym, i dont stink anymore, and the vapor just keeps getting better & better! So thats money very well spent.
On Nov 2012 i lost the person i love more in the world, my Mother, to smoking related illness. She was 74 years old, and had struggled the last years with CPD due to more than 50 years of smoking. She had quit "formal" (formal as in buying packs) smoking years ago, but still had an ocacional smoke. When i got my V2 kit she tried it and liked it enough to also quit smoking completely (even the ocacional smokes), but i guess it was too late for her. Her condition got worse, she now needed an oxigen generator and a ton of daily meds, and i her last months she managed to stop using even the eCig. But it is clear to me, that the only thing that did the trick of getting her off the ocacional cigarette was the PV.
Just months before my mom, about the time i was getting started in vaping (in march 2012), i lost another dear person, my aunt (my mom´s sister), also to CPD. My 2 older uncles (also on my mothers side), passed away years ago from the same causes. smoking.
Man do i wish these things exsisted (and would have been widely available) 50 years ago.
I smoked for about 20 years myself over 2 packs a day, so i can only pray that unlike my mom and my aunt, i got to vaping on time. I have a family of my own now, so i hope they dont have to go thru what i and my cousins had to.
But enough of the sad stuff! the reason im writting this is to thank those who helped me so...
Mom, thank you for lookin out for me, for encouraging me to keep trying to quit, for getting me there.
To all the great people in this forum, i really cant thank you enough. For answering my tons of newby questions, for listening to my rants when one of my PVs malfunctioned, for your support on the "close call" i had when i ran out of juice, for all your advice.
Thank you! I couldnt have done it with out your help!
To V2Cigs (and joyetech, innokin, etc), some would say you only did it to sell your product, that you dont really care about my healt, WHO CARES??? fact is your product saved my life! so thank you as well.
OK im gonna get outahere before i get more emotional.
Thank you guys!
