You win wdave. This should now be your forum, and only posts that you deem to be appropriate should be allowed. Let's get rid of all these individual thinkers who have different ideas. In fact, let's get rid of vaping, because someone may not be paying attention while they are vaping and crossing the street; then a car hits them. DEAD-because of vaping.

Thanks. One final thought, with the qualification that I am also smoker who fights dillusion: The truly insane are those who don't know they're insane.

Rational thinking is not a characteristic of a smoker. A smoker has lost the ability to think things through when it comes to smoking. Otherwise they would not smoke in the first place. Quiting smoking is a decision that all of us have made. However IMHO many people in the forum still have the mind of a smoker. That inability to think rationally on any topic related to smoking.

I'm sorry... But that is the most illogical, obtuse train of thought I have run across on ecf to date: the "character flaw" argument for assessing behavior. Geez wDave, when you gonna pull out the "...for the children!" trump card in your misguided attempt to lay down judgment as to when and for which adults vaping is acceptable - or not.

Sadly, the moderator might as well close this thread. It's gone ridiculously off topic and certainly no longer addresses the OP's orginal - and very reasonable - questions.

We need to stop arguing with wdave. He's not playing with a full deck. He probably believes the government is there to provide for his needs, and that everyone should think the way he does. If we stop maybe he will too!!

We agree to disagree. I do ask that no more personal insults be directed toward me just because you disagree with me. Take care.

Ok first off this is the first time I've been back to ecf since my last post in this thread. I want to say thank you all who have thoughtfully responded to my original question. As far as I'm concerned both members of my family are grown woman capable of making their own decisions. I just wondered what other peoples rational thoughts and/or opinions were on the matter.

Since I started this thread I have discussed their vaping at length with both of them and have come to realize it's a comfort for them and nothing more. They both enjoy it particularly when on the weekends we have family gatherings to play cards or dice, or when we watch the Football games together. The act of having something there in their hand and enjoying the feeling of smoking without any of the hazards is enjoyable to them. As a former smoker I absolutely understand this.

@wDave I understand you have your feelings on this matter and they have been more than expressed. Now would please stop de-railing my thread.

While I am not closing this thread I am posting again to make it absolutely clear that disruption of this thread will result in action against you by the moderators. If you think this comment is directed at you, then it probably is.

Apparently the earlier posts by moderators in this thread were too subtle to make the point.

I have to say, I try to stay out of these emotional topics, but I just have to reply to this. This post as well as your previous one really offended me, not just on my behalf, but on behalf of everyone who isn't you! lol Both this post and your previous one seem to indicate that no smokers are rational... Except for you. No scenario is possible.. Except for the ones that you posit. I can state and accept with full certainty that you and I are different people with different histories and experiences. You may well be a rational human being whose opinion just happens not to line up or coincide with mine, and you know what? I can respect that. YOU are entitled to your own opinion. I wish that you would grant the rest of us the same respect and entitlement. Any person who cannot at least attempt to see things from a point of view other than their own, and barring an agreement between two people who have different ideas at least grant that the other person is entitled to their own opinion seems to be rather guilty of closed-mindedness. In MY opinion. ;)

And to the OP, MissAngelD, I'm so glad you spoke to them about it, and were able to be more comfortable with the situation. Regardless of whether people agree or disagree with what they're doing, it seems pretty clear to me that you guys care about each other and any concern was based out of that caring. Its great that you were able to discuss it, though. Nothing worse than having 'elephant in the room' with someone you love. Good luck!
