At the end of the day, invest in the kayfun... best damn purchase I've made. For the Astro, got it today. I think I cut my teeth too much on modding out Sigeleis or something, because the first thing I do with any equipment I get is to tear it apart, clean, buff etc, apply noalox on threads and tasty bits, then throw it together to use. All threading right not, buttery, like a hydraulic lift... is it the best switch, lock.. nope, but one hell of a design all together. (And frankly, I think I'm buying mech now more for the engineering and craftsmanship then the vape.. grin.. I'm anxious to get my mitts on that lux swtich.
Works for me. I too buy mechs for their craftsmanship and just sheer artistry, and it just feels a more natural way to vape for me. Granted they are still mass produced to some degree but with much more attention to detail, pride in design and engineering, and quality control. After buying and selling the first 6 or 7 Sigeleis to be released, the 8 being my favorite, I'm just tired of cheap. My first 8 had 1 thread in the 510; How is that for QC before hitting the door. Every one required some labor on my part to get it functioning properly. My Father always said "you get what you pay for", and it took a very short time for me to discern between paying for quality and simply paying too much. But after 30 years of watching every penny it becomes easy to start settling for lesser quality in exchange for less money, but in the long run I have spent more on a large quantity of cheap mods than I would have spent if I just bought quality to begin with. The Nzonic and Astro were blessings and I don't know if i will strike that good of deals again, but if I have to pay closer to retail on one of my signature's mods, I won't be disappointed.
