I'm sure nearly everyone on this forum has been where I am now so I guess I am looking for tips, or more self indulgently, support! I've been vaping since December and have slowly cut down to about four a day but this weekend I felt ready to make the leap and throw my last pack away. Wish I'd prepared myself more though by making sure I had plenty of 24mg (only have about 7ml) as that's the only thing that's taking the edge off and the rest of my stock is 18mg. I'm ordering some more but as I live in Korea it won't be here for over a week. I've been a pack a day smoker for fifteen years and I know its time but it just feels so weird to be without something that was such a big part of my life. I LOVE vaping and even though its healthier, tastes better and doesn't smell it's still a challenge to quit the analogs. I know that there are a lot of people out there who were able to quit straight away but for others who struggled like me how long did it take for you to get past the need for an analog? And by that I mean serious cravings not just a passing fancy.

Hi there I'm new myself. What worked for me was the menthol ejuice, never like menthol analogs. Also my pv never left my hand except for when I was at work. Congrats on finally making the leap to quit, it's tough but I feel so much better now. And as far as support goes....You'll find a lot here. Happy Vappin from the US :vapor:

Do you mean physically better? If so how long did that take? I'm sure that must be a real motivator. I'd already thrown my cigarettes away when I went to an ecig store here to buy some cartomizers yesterday but if I hadn't I would have done after going as they had one of those sticks you blow into to measure your lung capacity. I'm not exactly sure what the results were as my Korean isn't very good but I gathered the results weren't all that encouraging!

Can you get Swedish Snus in Korea? That helps tremendously. Snus contains the other alkaloids in tobacco that feed the addiction.

But you should be able to stave off the cravings with 18mg. That's not exactly weak juice and is what most 1 PAD smokers use.

I quit immediately with no cravings using 24mg and I smoked 3 packs a day for 35 years!!

If you have the same flavors of 18 and 24mg, you can mix them together to raise the 18 a little and stretch it out.

Don't panic. Vape the hell out of the 18mg. Vape as much as you can and you'll forget to smoke. You won't have time to light up.

Sorry I couldn't be more help with info on longer term cravings. I'm one of the lucky ones, I guess.

Hello from the U.S.! I had a tough time quitting smoking straight away too. I had a small ecig when I tried to quit, and it wasn't cutting it, so I kept smoking while I was vaping because I just didn't get that hit I needed. So I upgraded to an ego style ecig and vaped 32mg juice like crazy and that was what did it for me. Dripping helped too, it seemed to deliver more of that feeling that I needed (strong throat hit).

Good luck! It's hard, but definitely worth it.

It is hard. I had climbing the wall psycho woman cravings. Try the snus or something with WTA in it to help. (I would have, but I didn't know) When you have them, vape and tell yourself that it will pass, and it surely will. I know, though how powerful the cravings can get. Whew... After the third day, the worst of the cravings will be over. You'll still have them, and some of them will be strong, but the worst will have passed and you will have made it. The great thing is that you'll be able to breathe deeply again! You won't wheeze when you lay down to go to sleep, nor will you burn holes in your clothes and other belongings. You'll feel better, but more importantly, you'll have a deeper respect for yourself for doing something so difficult! Keep posting. All of us on here have been through it and are here to support you.

Well I'm not saying today is exactly pleasant but its certainly better than the last time I tried to quit five years ago through hypnotism. I lasted three days but it was like something out of trainspotting! I was in physical pain, shaking and constantly crying. I caved and had a cigarette in the end after my brother begged me to as I was shouting at everyone during his graduation lunch! This is much better than that but still not easy. I just really wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow as I'm a teacher and the little darlings often leave me feeling like I need a triple vodka and a hundred analogs after a difficult class!

Don't drive yourself nuts! I took a few months to quit and it was easy because by then because vaping felt and tasted good and cigs just tasted nasty. I smoked less and less and then stopped. It also was a turning point for me when I got an ego. The little 510, it turned out, wasn't enough.
Keep asking questions, you will figure it out! Welcome to vaping!

Thanks everyone! Haven't mentioned it to my friends of family as don't want the pressure of 'how's it going?' all the time so its good to have a source of support! No snuff here unfortunately but I might be able to get hold of some nicotine patches. Am lying on my couch with twelve different flavors, cartomizers, a dripping atomizer and a cart and tank so no shortage of vaping supplies thankfully.

The puff-and-exercise method works surprisingly well. Also, having a strong-nic tobacco flavor for those 'analog moments' also helped a whole lot at first -- I found that when I started craving a smoke, I grabbed that flavor, and after a couple moments the craving was gone. Made it a lot easier.

Hang in there. It gets better!
