I needed 5v vaping at 24mg in the beginning to quit. (25 years 1+ PPD). I've been vaping 7 months now and still am at 24mg but am vaping much less frequently now. +1 on the ciggies tasting nasty - I didn't quit really the vaping made cigs taste so nasty after the first few days couldn't get one down. Hope that this helps.

Ha ha yeah it was pretty bad. I was supposed to be the surprise guest of honour at my Dad's retirement party the next day as well so I was pretty much ordered to smoke before I ruined both family events. Every time I've had a shaky moment today I thought about how awful those three days were and how much stronger I feel now. Thank god for vaping!!! Luckily my classes are only half an hour long so I think there'll be a lot of sneaky bathroom vape action going on tomorrow!

Congratulations and I empathize. I was at 1.5 PAD for 50 years until 01JAN2012. I had tried: cold turkey, patches, lozenges, gum, wellbutrin, and hypnosis...pretty much the same experience as you. The gum worked best for me, but was a temporary fix that just pushed off the inevitable next analog. Finally, vaping - and it worked. Unlike the other approaches I didn't go crazy (just the occasional craving during the first month that went away with some exercise or some tobacco flavored juice with higher nic - 24 mg). It was so much easier with a PV to not even think about having an analog. I haven't saved any money but I haven't had an analog this year and my breathing got a LOT better - no coughing or wheezing, fewer colds, and I don't smell like an ashtray anymore. Hang in there and good luck.

Bronte, I completely understand your frustration in trying to complete give-up analogs. I started vaping in August of 2011 and absolutely love it, however, I also, have been unable to completely give up analogs. I started at 24mg and found that I was vaping so much to substitute for analogs, that I would get a terrible headache. What has worked well for me, is lowering my nic level and vaping more. Honestly, I have not completely quit analogs, but have made great progress is cutting them down and using my device more often to help with cravings. I hope this helps a bit, stay strong and keep vaping!!

I started vaping about a year and a half ago after 25+ years of about a pack a day habit. The first few days I smoked a few cigs a day and then quit altogether after about a week. I was getting bad cravings at first and found some 36 mil nic juice which cut them down greatly. The last bad craving I can remember now was over a year ago, the day of my daughters wedding. Now I am down to 12 mil nic and cant imagine going back to analogs, I know when its time to cut down on the nic when I dont fall asleep clutching my pv like a pacifier. Now just the smell if someone walks by with a cig makes me sick. All this to say stick it out, the result is worth it. Best of luck and everyone here is pulling for you.

Hi there I'm new myself. What worked for me was the menthol ejuice, never like menthol analogs. Also my pv never left my hand except for when I was at work. Congrats on finally making the leap to quit, it's tough but I feel so much better now. And as far as support goes....You'll find a lot here. Happy Vappin from the US :vapor:

I had the same urges when I gave up completly but also agree that I was not a menthol smoker BUT vaping menthol did it for me but VV really now the only way forward for me
