I've never rolled 24g before and rolled this one for my Igo-M that I received today. Because it's a single coil on a dripper designed for duals, I may also have overstuffed it with cotton. I was worried about leakage, so i stuffed the unused side too.

I'm used to doing coils in my Phoenix, so i had trouble also with the overhand thru the post hole, versus the underhanded ones on the P. .8 ohm 24g coil >

the screws are tight and i have it on my Sig 20w with a floating pin, so I know it's making contact. Running it at 19.1 w/3.90 V so it shouldn't be the problem.

thank you! I've never rolled a sub ohm coil or 24g kanthal before so I'm clueless. Eventually i'll try dual coils for this, but to start i tried a single.

Wait, im assuming this is a misprint right? .08ohms or .8ohms?

Nice build! :) you most probly need more powa! lower Ω I take it you have sub ohm batterys!??

if so maybe do 6/7 wrap 1/8 id 0.6ohm

thank you! Yes, I have sony and MNKE high amp batteries. i'll have to see what diameter the screw driver i'm using is. it's one i got several years ago from lite cig with my phoenix's. if i go smaller diameter, i'd have to make a bed for the cotton, or i'd never get it in loose lol

This is what a single coil in a, dual coil setup should look like....

ok that's kinda what i have now after pulling the cotton out and redoing it only on one side. i'm not sold on the big block in the center of mine, versus single posts. the single posts always gave me more options for tweaking the coil around. kind limited on the IGO-M.

I just had a look and it seems you are using 30A batteries, a 3/4 open wrap, on 1/8id(3mmid) 0.4Ω would heat up fast

just try and get the airhole lined up with one of the two center wraps. gl

Zzzz itsa bedtime :)

thank you. i will try that. i also have 28g, 30, and 32 kanthal. maybe i should roll what i know with 30g and do it dual coil. i also need to inspect the screw bottoms to make sure they are making contact with the wires in the posts. one of the screws looks high, but it is tight. may just be the price of using 28g ?

They heat up slow it is more metal, but they cool off slow as well.

Here is dual 23-ga in the "M", I think it was like .19 ohms

very nice coils!! i will give that a try tomorrow maybe. good to know that it heats up slow. much slower than my phoenix that's for sure. i got burned by the coil actually when i touched it after pulsing it, so you're right it holds the heat.

i think i'll use 28 or 30 for my dual coil trial. i got 25 ft of the 24g on sale at tempco last week and when i went to pull some out for the coil, the entire roll went boing off the roll lol. your 23 must do the same :) i got frustrated and figured a single coil would be good enough for first try. i'm kind of a close enough is good enough person when i'm in a hurry ;-)

ok this is where i got confused. i knew it would be below 1 ohm when i was wrapping it being 24g, but i thought if i went lower it would require more power and time to heat it up. i guess i don't understand sub ohm vaping lol

yep it produces more power and will heat the coil faster

ohms law calc.. just tap in your Ω and voltage
for my 18650 batt's I enter them as 4.2v :) have fun

ps- the thing that scares me about mech's is hot button and blazing batteries. i had it on my p18 and until i fixed the spring with a wire leg, i was getting it on my sig19. i'm kind of a chicken when it comes to that lol. i used to have to fling my P18 across the floor of my truck will driving, several x because of a short somewhere.

hum... you could always get a Reo Grande, with the new sub ohm contacts they come with now then you could do 0.2Ω no problems...
plus and this is a big plus you get to squonk juice, squeeze a bottle underneath the rba that pushes fresh juice up through a tube to the deck ;)
