this has been my stance on clones from day one. i understand the ethical issues behind it, a modder spent day and night designing and perfecting his product and after releasing it sees a drop in sales and stolen customers when all the clones flood the market from china. BUT they are just simply overpriced. i mean in all reality when you buy a mech mod, you are buying a flashlight tube with a 510 connection and a spring or a couple magnets on the other end. when its all said and done originals are marked up hundreds of dollars simply for the design. materials cost is not that expensive for brass or copper or stainless steel, and yes paying for the production of them can be quite pricey but with my knowledge of metal pricing and factory costs i can't see something like an original brass stingray costing more than 30 dollars a piece to make. yet they sell them for 215. why? clones offer a product very similar in quality and is much more affordable by to 99% of the population. hell if i had 250 bucks to spend it would be an amazing feeling to own an original but i don't have that kind of money and not many people do. if i were to create my own mod with a cool design i would not sell it for more than 80 dollars. that is relatively affordable and even if 30 dollar clones were available i think people would be willing to spend A LITTLE extra to say they have an original. but not 175 dollars extra. my favorite quote of all time is: opinions are like a*#$^&@#!, everybody has one. so if you don't agree with mine feel free to move on to the next comment. happy vaping! (sorry for the long winded response, i have been waiting for my chance to get all that off my chest)

This right here. Agree wholeheartedly. I cannot possibly imagine spending more than $100 on a mech mod, I don't care if it has a unicorn, Thor's hammer or Barney etched on the side. Just doesn't make sense to me. I have no problem whatsoever with those who think differently though. To each their own.

So, we've all gone through the clone vs authentic mod debate a hundred times, right?

And that's not all. They're now making their own RBA designs as well.

Now, how would the other authentic mod makers react if this starts to take off and the Chinese start flooding the market with $40 original mods? Forget the clones, now $40 originals are here.

Now.......this glass RBA is of some interest to me assuming it's of similar build and capacity to the KF's. I'd be very interested in what price point this is going to come out at!

Have to agree there. I've been completely underwhelmed with the various quartz kits I've seen for Kayfuns, not to mention prices equal to the clone I want to put them on. And I like the protection offered by the metal sheath along with a generous cutout to make reading liquid levels easy. I can just imagine how awkward a big sized quartz kit would be for a big Kayfun. Hope it sells well enough they consider making it in 22mm.

You remind me of someone who would run a Sweatshop. Lets just lower the standard of living in this country and keep flooding the market with Chinese products.

Good on them for making an attempt at being "original"

Helmsman looks a lot like an "interpretation" of a Nemesis in a larger non-segmented tube model.

The other thing looks a lot like a kayfun clone with a different tank.

By the way, HCigar is a re-branding company, they manufacture nothing.

Not to go all "clone debate" but your chinese peoples over there are working for pennies where Americans and Europeans are working for dollars. Pretty sure their profit margin percentages are still higher than US or European counterparts.

Anyways, good on them, both look nice. Not something I would buy but I am happy that those who cannot afford high end hardware have other options besides clones.

;)

Lol I doubt you could've been more patronizing if you tried, it could have been taken offensively if it wasn't a bunch of BS lol.

Most 'authentic' mods are loosely based on eachother, bar the logo and top cap design, maybe a different type of switch if they really want to be 'innovative'. Same with RBA's, RDA's etc. Clones are copies of the Original, most Originals are just a tweaked older model with a makeover. Some of these mod makers are artists and true innovators like Steampunk for example, but most are not doing anything special or original, or not any more original then they have to be so their product doesn't appear a complete knockoff.

Do your research, HCigar do manufacturer their own products, and they don't use child labor or whatever else you've read and believed without looking into it, which is stupid by the way lol. From what i've seen the employees are professionals working in a clean facility with some state of the art machinery, and doors are always open to visitors as well. With that high and mighty 'buy from the west' protest your commandeering do you realize that it's big American and European companies taking advantage of cheap labor and lax child labor laws in the far east? Why do you think most US/EU products are manufactured in China? To maximize profit margins for the cheap labor dumbass. I hope you are avoiding brands caught out for having children working in their factories, such as Wall-Mart, Hershey's and Nestle, Microsoft and Apple, any drink made by Coca Cola and more - you're the one who doesn't support cheap labour, i'm sure you know all this and the rest and avoid them accordingly...?

Before knocking products from the east made by my chinese peoples (really?! lol), you might want to double check the brand of your TV, laptop, smartphone, and pretty much any other electrical items around your home, and that won't even be the half of it.

Yeah some people buy clones because they can't afford authentic but that doesn't make you better then them either - they can do the same thing with their clone as you can with your original, apart from logging on forums to get pats on the back for splashing on an authentic lol. But some people just can't see a reason to spend so much when clones are available anyway - and are getting better and better all the time. And some can afford it but choose to spend money on other things, for many people life is bigger then vaping, and monthly pay go to things besides vape mail lol

Not tryna get into an authentic vs clone debate either I just wanted to point out your bogus comments made you look like a dumbass lol

:vapor:;)

I have literally been laughing my ... off here. Ease up there kiddo, from what I have seen speaking with friends of mine who order large quantities of HCIGAR stuff for their vape shops the replies from Hcigar are "We will send order when our manufacturers send product to us" This leads you to believe they are in fact having manufacturers make items for them. Not the end of the world and certainly does not negate the value of a company who's chief source of product is direct copies, down to the logo of other companies work. I have never been to a factory over there, it is actually not one of the countries on my "fun to travel to" list.
It is a good thing that there are affordable mods out there. Kinda like cars, there would be too many people walking if a Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Porsche, etc were the only cars on the market. Especially for those people who choose not to spend all their money on vaping, and you know, like eat or pay bills.

No need to get all personal kiddo, my apologies, I had no idea you were related to Mr Hcigar. It wasn't meant to be a personal attack. Your efforts at justifying the hard work, ingenuity, and shear genius it must take to make copies of things and sell them has alone changed my mind forever of the clone market.

P.S. EHPro makes better clones than Hcigar.

**Drivel from a chunt**

Not personal at all mate just funny to me because on pretty much every thread about a clone on this forum there will always be at least one mug who comments about originals and for what to make themselves feel good or to try make others feel bad i duno, but your comment seemed a little antagonistic so commented back in the heat of it lol.

I hardly see the comparison between a mod or a luxury car or watch or anything similar, they are built by professionals and can't be mimicked by anyone other then another expert, were talking about a mod copied in every way from looks to function to materials used, but whatever lol

Anyways maybe my comment led you to believe i care more then i actually do and i dont wanna turn op's thread to another clone vs authentic thread as this forum already got enough of those so yh bye bye :)
