Hello to all,
I tried to quit smoking several times and really didn't quite fit the bill, i guess the BIGGEST problem for me is that i ENJOYED smoking. I know it is bad for me and all that but i still enjoyed having a cigarette, even tried a e-cig from smoke-smart about 2 yrs ago didn't work, with that said my daughter wanted me to start working out wit her and boy did i find out FAST how bad i was out of shape so i told her i would try again and picked up a blu disposable original tobacco. I was very surprised how good the taste was and starting searching everything i could on 'vaping' and found this forum which has a TON of knowledge. i decided to give Halo a shot and ordered their G6 starter kit with 2 mini-tanks and the tobacco sample pack, got it in mail Thursday charged the batteries overnight and tried EVERY single juice yesterday and was very disappointed with the flavors. ( don't jump on me yet i am NOT bashing Halo!!!) I got back on this forum and started looking around for the same problems with other members, that's when i read about steeping......could this be MY problem with Halo's sample pack?? I mean the Tribeca and Turkish were tolerable but nothing else in the pack i could vape, so i went home and shook em all up pulled the tops off and they have been in the closet since 8pm last night. Has anyone else here had this same experience with Halo's juice or were you able to vape it right from the mail??? I also read on here that Johnson Creek Domestic and Tennessee Cured is close to the blu taste and actually the taste i am after is called a ryu4 i think, so i got 2 bottles from Johnson creek coming one dom. and one tenn. and i guess what i need to be trying from other liquid vendors is their RYU4 liquids?? Well hopefully i will find one i like and HOPEFULLY STEEPING will help the ones i got from Halo, love the hardware they sent and Customer Service has been really helpful with my questions i know everyones tastes are different but i just can't believe after seeing 342 reviews of Tribeca almost all 5 stars it just didn't knock my socks off, I hope the steeping takes care of it........any suggestions or pointers are more than welcome and thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Oh yeah almost forgot the most IMPORTANT thing: Last analog October 28, 2013 @ 5:45pm EST

I agree with what they've said. Tobaccos turned out to not be my thing, though I do like that turkish from Halo on occasion. That's what my boyfriend vapes. He likes his straight out of the mail box. My tastes changed over time, too, and finding my all day everyday took at least a month. Turns out I like creamy flavors best. I also like minty flavors. I've has more success with flavors I didn't like after I let them sit a while. Don't give up yet! You'll get there, too.

Thanks for the warm welcome and yeah i figured it would be a challenge to get what is best for my taste but on the plus side 3 of my co-workers started asking questions about my blu and now G6 and i answered them the best i could now they are trying the blus and going to the smoke store getting me juice to try in my mini-tanks........we could find a clear winner i could have several more orders for Halo, they all seem to like the look, design, feel of the G6. They are still smoking analogs but from what they have told me they have cut down over 50% of their smoking because of vaping so still a plus!!:toast:

OFF TOPIC:
Storm is that you in your avatar?? The exercise i was referring to in my original post with my daughter is Aikido/Weapons Defense training and those shin guards brought back painful memories when i didn't have MINE. Bruised shins and toes but we are just beginning......

Congratulations and welcome! My experience is this: I ordered from several different vendors and sampled a lot of different liquid until I landed on three vendors that suited my taste. But I had to wade through a gallon of liquid that I didn't care for. On top of that, my taste buds were freshening up and something that was great one day was not the next. But stick with it, it's worth it!!!

I remember the taste of my first tobacco flavor and the faces I'd make, ugh.....but I stuck with it. Around week 3 I woke up and took a hit and was like "yum, that tasted really good" so I hit it again and liked it! My taste buds were changing. Believe what they say, you will have a different opinion of those juices as time goes by, a short period of time at that. Good luck to you and Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Congrats on quitting the smokes!

Everyone here has been where you are; so far you've gotten a lot of great advise. I'd just like to add to the idea that over time, you tastes will change, and steeping MAY help the ones you don't like.

Like you, I could only do the Turkish and Tribeca even after letting them all sit for a month. And I had been vaping for 5 months already! So just know that everyone's tastes are different, and what one person thinks is the bee's knees, someone else will think it's worse than pond scum. :D

It's frustrating, and you may go thru a ton of liquid just to find a few that you like, but for me that's part of the fun. So if this happens to you, don't get discouraged; we've all been there, lol!

I have tried two tobacco flavors and really didn't like them, and I loved smoking too. People here have just said that tobacco flavors are not much like smoking; they taste like tobacco, not like tobacco smoke! So I have ordered a sampler of other flavors to try. In the meantime I am happy with just menthol (I was a menthol smoker, but others who weren't said they liked the menthol too.) So - don't give up because you haven't found a flavor you like - it may not end up being tobacco flavor at all.

Oh I love tobaccos--just those in particular didn't hit the spot for me. In fact it was some tobaccos I had and loved that made me think to try the tobacco sampler at Halo.

Now moving on to try some others. :)

Which tobaccos did you like, which vendor did you use and what type of cigs did you smoke before quitting?? I was Marlboro Light for YEARS then when they TAXED it like crazy i went to Marlboro Red Special Blend..........Blus have been keeping me from going back so far until i can find the flavor that hits the spot in my G6 mini-tank.:vapor:

I had started with a Tribeca tasting juice that was custom blended by Dekang for a local B & M here--simply called Turkish. That was good, then I got Aroma ejuice Sahara and Turkish Blend which has tobacco alkaloids in it (as opposed to straight nic). I don't recommend WTA to just anyone (google WTA for info)--I was still having insane cravings after being smoke free for 30 days, so I tried the alkaloid mix and it helped tremendously. I think they sell it without the WTA in it though so you might look.

I decided about 4 months in to look at Indigo--got a sampler pack that included Kick Back and Oorah! and really liked Kick Back. Included was a sample of Dusk to Dawn. I went back and purchased The Turk, Kick Back, Dusk to Dawn, and Indigo RY. Next time around, I'll probably get Oorah! again (it was a bit heavy for me the first time but not bad, I might like better now) and Eastwood--and I'll replenish the RY and D to D since they will be regulars for me. The Turk is very dark, rich, and sweet--RY has a bit more cinnamon and caramel flavor, Dusk to Dawn has a hint of cherry.

I'm going to try Heather's Heavenly Vapes and Nite Lite sometime in the future, but Indigo tobaccos are my go to at the moment.

I was a PAD Camel Filters smoker for 30 years--but really, now they just taste like chemicals so I don't even associate vaping tobacco flavors with smoking cigarettes. I just happen to like the flavor of darker, heavier juices. If they happen to be tobaccos then that's fine with me! :)

Oh, and at the end of October I decided to try a vanilla custard from someone who's mentioned here a few times, although not as much as a couple of others (I tend to like to take the road less traveled, lol), Big Willie's Custard. If you like vanilla custard, I will recommend his juice. It's the only juice he makes and you have to find his FB page to order (by PayPal). I got a 60mL bottle and I always have a tank full. I will have to try the other 2 to compare, but it's super good!

Thanks for the in depth reply.....cleared up several; things for me like you and others have said i just need to get the tobacco out of my head and just go with my taste buds wherever they lead me....... I had a friend actually two of my co-worker just asked me about the G6 i had at my desk in the shop and i said here i have 3 Prime 15 cartos that i probably will never use, they loaded it up to the battery took a drag and they BOTH said yum tastes kinda like chocolate.....:facepalm: i took a hit still tasted like chems??? don't know just no where near chocolate..........but they both still smoke..... maybe taste buds??? but on a good note we are ordering another G6 starter kit with Prime 15 for one of the two guys he said he could STOP with Prime 15........FOUR people from my work trying to stop smoking since i started vaping and its not even been 2 weeks........:toast:
