I ordered my vamo before Xmas, it came and was great for about 10 min. then died, So got with vendor...solved by sending me a new one (and some free stuff for the trouble) everything was allgood. Two weeks later the new one wont increase past battery rating. 1 batt will not go above 4.2v when its fresh (all checked with miltimeter). If I use 2 batts it works fine. It is probably the voltage booster, the regulation seems to work fine. Opened a ticket 4 days ago, and have gotten no response. I will refrain from saying who they are to give them a chance to make it right, then I will hit the NEG review forum, I will give them until the end of the day. I guess I just needed to vent, this is very frustrating. Hope everyone else is having a better experience with their Vamo.

Sorry, but just curious and I don't understand.
Do you mean when you hold the button that shows how much charge is in the battery?
Wouldn't a single battery be at 4.2v freshly charged and go down from there?

.... or are you talking about selecting the VV running it in #1 mod and not being able to select above 4.2v - it should adjust 3.0v to 6.0v.

I too had a problem with a vamo. The vendor replaced it with a new one and the new one has been working fine (knock on wood).

Have you tried switching to VW and seeing if you could adjust that?...and judging by your original post, it would be easy to glance at that and assume that you were holding the battery check button down too long. I would send the vendor a new message, starting off with, "I think the voltage booster is not working on my Vamo, and this is why..."

Edit: If I remember correctly, you need to wait at least 7 days before opening a neg review.

It does the same in VW mode, if I check it with Multimeter it reads 4.2 or whatever, unless I set it lower. The seller got back to me today after I left a snippy message in my ticket...you know the perfunctory "we can send you a postage paid box to send it back". So I had them send me a PDF of the label and it will go out tommorrow...again.
Last time it was different, they were really nice and trying to make me happy, but this time they seem like they don't want to talk to me. Oh well, I guess I will get another one in a week or so.

Are multimeters able to accurately read VW devices? I vaguely remember reading a post saying that the Germans had checked the VAMO with oscilloscopes? and that the power could, therefore, be considered to be outputting accurately.

There are meters that can accurately measure the voltage. I have one. My Fluke is true RMS so it can measure these. The better measure is to test while under load though so either you have to build a rig to do that or you purchase a e-cig meter.

Should have just gotten a.....Ego Twist :)

Sorry couldnt help myself, am sorry that youre having this problem. This is why I tend to stay away from cheaper priced mods even though they are easier on my wallet.

Id send it back and maybe invest in this instead. Anyvape CVI

Appears to be same as Zmax or Vamo circuitry. Should be reviews out soon. It's an RMS vv/vw mod. Considering we don't know how it performs its not something I'd be recommending instead of something else right now.I'm waiting for a review that confirms accuracy, and holding voltage under load, among other things. That one review isn't going into enough for me. There is also a thread for it here:

This is the Vamo forum.
