I almost pulled the trigger on the Vamo. The pulse modulation concerned me, but I didn't want to drop the money on the Provari until I am sure this is something I am going to stick with. I am going to go with a mech mod + the crown. This should give me the same performance as the Provari for half the cost. Minus the nifty display, but giving me the option of low resistance vaping.

Be advised that the kick has a 10w limit. Most SLR setups take advantage of the fact that a mech has no limits and often will be hitting in the 16+ watt range. You can still use your kick, you just can't use it when you are needing more than 10 watts.

PS Everything except the Darwin and the Provari uses pulse width modulation (the Provari does as well, it's just better filtered)... it's the way things are in VV/VW.

Welcome , but did it say lo v , or low ohms ??? If lo ohms , probably need to replace the gasket , under the contact plate , with a size 60 o-ring . Can be found at Lowes , or the Depot . I cut mine in half , to make it easier . If this is what your having a problem with , PM me , and I'll guide you through the proceedure . Pretty easy , if you have done it a few times ( and I have ) If it lo volts , don't know , can't help with that . Good Luck .

Lo v (volts) generally means there's a bad connection- could be in the thread joints, wires connected to atty connector, wires connected to the pcb. This bad connection messes with the pcb and gives false readings/ Lo v.
When it's a poor electrical connection there's more resistance than normal and all readings are on the frtiz.

sometimes the atty contact gets pushed up away from the post. i pull it out a little before i replace the atty. otherwise i get 9.99 reading from it, high drain batteries are needed but they sent you the right ones. although i would make sure you are getting a full 3.7V reading from the fully charged battery. don't remember the last time i drained my battery to get the lo v message. i never let them run that low.

I believe the Kick/Crown also does a good job of filtering pulse width modulation. Am I right? I will be kicking the kick (dethroning the crown?) for SLR setups.

I went through a rough patch awhile back and came here to vent and got a much needed pep talk which kept me hangin on. So now I'm back because of a different problem :(
I got a vamo a couple weeks ago thinking it would solve all my problems. It worked great for a week, then no matter what I put on it it wouldn't work, it would say LO so I would check the battery it was fine then I would try unscrewing the tank a bit. It has been a on again off again thing.. now it's a wont even turn on thing! :( I'm so frustrated with this thing! I'm back using my One Kgo because the other one I had wont even charge! I know I should just chill, but one battery and a dead vamo is Frustrating!!!!
Any ideas what is up with this vamo?? Is there like a secret I'm unaware of?

GRRR Vamo! why must you look at me with your crazy little face and refuse to work?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I just read a post about this occasional problem and now can't find it. The ECF member said it was due to tightening your atty/carto down too much and dislodging the center pin on the Vamo. He stated it was easily fixed. I would post the question in the Vamo sub-forum and I'm sure you will get an answer. Here's the Vamo sub-forum:

You asked about battery vendors. I had real good luck with Orbtronic.com. I ordered the wrong ones (protected) and their customer service was great. They shipped the right batteries on to me before they even got my return back. They also knew about the vamo and pointed me to exactly what I needed. A lot of vendors out there to choose from, but I had a great experience with these guys. Good luck.

I did try stretching the spring out a little bit, but it still wouldn't power on so I charged the battery some more, still wont power on. I guess its safe to say it's the battery. As far as the other problems I was having, I can't work on those until I have a working battery.
I appreciate everyones help!

I also somehow lost power to my Vamo . For some reason , the wires inside ( under the top cap ) were not in a good position for a connection ??? Not sure what's wrong here , but watched a YouTube video , from Ryan Cook ( Ryno Serious ) about taking apart , the Vamo . I followed his video , to carefully remove the top cap , and turned it , until my Vamo came on . Again , I have no idea why it is doing this , but turning the top cap , seemed to do the trick . ( top cap is a press fit ) And if you only have one battery , you need to get a few more (at least ) and also check your charger , my wife 's batteries weren't charging . The light turned green , but they were still not charged . Changed the power cord , and that problem went away . Sounds like you also need to get a multi-meter , so you can check your batteries , and chargers , as well as ohm output of your devices . Good Luck.
