Wow, 6-8 and your still using the cheap China mods! I would have gotten fed up and spent the coin on a quality mod like a BuzzPro, ProVari, or something of that nature, with a US based service department. Also a bit concerned since I have a Vamo on order, Oh well I guess I'll see how mine holds up. For the price I'm really not expecting much.

If it is 2 in a row - measuring the output voltage of a PWM device requires measuring VRMS. Unless its a VRMS multi-meter it won't give an accurate reading - it will be giving a flawed reading. A 4.2v reading, if not done using VRMS, suggests its just reading the battery voltage, not the output. So that's why I'd like to know what meter was used.
I just used a plain multimeter, I know its not accurate but since it was hitting so light I thought I would give a try. I have a cheap MV meter as well that tests under load. In VV mode with 2 18350's it reads right on, In VW mode I dont know what the voltage should be at what wattage. With 1 18650 or 18350 it will not read past battery voltage. That tells me the booster is not working right, but the regulator is. I know a little about electronics, but not enough to claim any intelligence on the subject. In other words.....My vape ain't right and that distresses me greatly. Thanks for all the input everybody, it's great to have an awesome community for a sympathetic ear. I should have bought a Provari...LOL
You aren't getting an accurate reading from a plain multimeter. Not reading past battery voltage with 1x 18650 or 1x 18350 doesn't mean what you're saying. It means the meter cannot read it. Its a PWM device. You need one that reads true RMS or a VRMS meter.
What batteries are you using with it? How old are they? I'm asking because "hitting light" suggests there may be a problem either with the power source or you're not getting a good connection.

I'm not so sure about that. From what I can tell, I've seen way more happy customers, than unhappy customers, in my readings on the Vamo.
Sometimes, it really is as simple as "poop happens". Especially with a $50 mod that's made in China. Sorry to hear the OP is having a string of bad luck, though. I also hope his vendor comes through and makes things right for him.
I hope when I get mine, my experience is more in tune with the satisfied customers.
But I feel I can trust the vendor I ordered from on making things right, should a problem arise.
That sucks to hear. 0-2 sounds rough. I just got the v2 ss and works great, even with the thinker spring it came with despite the current topic on the spring floating around here. I really would not be worried if you recently ordered one, its a cheap mod and works great. Just think about how many have been sold and how many threads like this you actually see. It also sounds like some user error was involved with wrong tools used when the op was probing this. I would be more ...... if this was Polvari or such with high end/price tag on it.

I just cant put my finger on it...just seems like some part of this is off...on non regulated mods I've had batteries that test voltage wise fine...but just don’t have the power behind it...like getting volts but not amps (I work with ac current and don’t know jack about DC stuff)...but seems like it might be the batteries....but then again I don’t know enough to give a intelligent guess as to what is going on... As for the you get what you pay for....I agree to a point, but seems someone's post negative about every PV ever made, just seen a post about unhappy with a ProVari ..and to that point, My Bosses Rolls Royce spends a whole lot of time in the repair shop...and he complains about it all the time. I think the VAMO is as good, maybe better than most of the PVs on the market.
The Vamo has enough cool features to make my mouth water but this is not an inspiring thread for their product lol. Very sorry to hear about that, when an apv is essentially DOA i go ape.... too

This thread got me curious.
I just used my meter to check mine out.
I use my AGA-T and put one lead to to tank cap and one to the center post.
I used a battery metered @ 4.17V and the RBA running a 1.8 ohm coil.
With my wattage set to 11W, voltage measures @ 4.45V.
I'm sure it was delivering higher volts at the 510 connection, but I have no means of checking it there.
There's a reason you can buy these 3 to 1 over a Provari and quality control is it.
While I was waiting for Christmas to get here, i saw a few thousand of these go through Health Cabin's inventory.
I bet if Provape was moving as many there would be issues as well.
That said.... If they offered VW I would have laid out the cash.
I'm still not convinced the OP is using a proper meter. He even said he knows it's not accurate, but then claims the Vamo is broken? If it's not a proper meter it won't read the voltage correctly, period. Which means the claims that it's not functioning properly are without merit.
I just received a Chrome Vamo the other day and it is working beautifully so far.

I bet you are wrong about the volume sold. The Provari has been in the market for over 2 years. The Vamo a month.
I am sure, for now there are more Provari's on the market.
But Provape is not cranking them out at the rate the Chinese manufacturer's are.
Yeah true. I have read two complain posts from unhappy owners so far. One was fading logo and the other one was a loose led screw. Am sure there are more.
