When I smoked cigs, I smoked outside and never in my car. However with vaping, I am vaping in my house and my car.
Is second hand vapor not good?

So far, closed room tests show nothing to worry much about. I'm not convinced (at least not yet) that "second hand vapor" is a thing.

Meaning some water vapor and flavorings is probably less dangerous than the chemical "air fresheners" everybody wants you to buy. And the trace amounts of nicotine detected are lower than you get from eating tomatoes.

Most of my family are in health care. Not one makes me go outside to vape. Smoking? Oh yah, outside mister. Vape? They're fine with it. And they know the medical science stuff way better than I ever will.

From what I've read and heard it is only water that we exhale. I've been vaping for 11 months both in my house and in the car and both smell great! As a matter of fact I was asked what air freshener I was using! :D

Nope. It’s glycerin, PG and flavoring (i.e. e-liquid vapor). Lungs consume only part of it.

Edit: and nicotine of course...

From what I understand so far, we are still exhaling a 'vapor' that is a contaminate to 'fresh' air but I mean what exactly is 'fresh' air anyway. I mean standing by a busy road in a town or city, the air will be contaminated.

I don't think there are clear studies done on what is exhaled but in this video they talk about the 'particulate matter' that is created when vaping. It's an hr long so you can skip to the bit (not sure exactly how far in) but I found it a very informative balanced discussion on e-cigs so would encourage you to watch the whole thing if you can be bothered -

I have read one comprehensive study on the contents of second hand vapor. Unfortunately I cannot remember the exact source, but this is what they found.

Second hand vapor does contain a small amount of nicotine. Not all is absorbed by the person vaping. However, this quickly disperses so a person breathing second hand vapor is unlikely to receive any more than trace amount, not much more than they would get from eating one of the many vegetables that also contains nicotine.

Other than that no measurable amounts of any toxins were found.

And an interesting side note, the amount of bacteria in breath of a person who vapes is lower than someone who doesn't thanks to the Propylene Glycol. PG has natural antibacterial properties and a person who vapes often has less bacteria in their mouths than someone who doesn't. In some cases vaping may actually prevent you from getting sick or prevent infections from spreading.

2nd hand vape is about as dangerous as catching fumes from a steaming cup of coffee.

And really, let's put it in perspective, people handle laser paper receipts on a daily basis which are extremely toxic. Not to mention, household chemicals, cleaners, paints, etc. People still drink from plastic bottles with BPA.

We're surrounded by horribly toxic stuff all day every day. Vape is the least of our worries.

There can be nothing other than usual by products of respiration and what was inhaled to start with. The amounts exhaled are almost so small as to be unmeasurable.

Attempts to treat second-hand vapour in the same way as second-hand smoke are derided, because if you exclude the nicotine, everything in eliquid is also in your cakes, toothpaste, shampoo and so on.

Link doesn't work. Here is one that does: Electronic cigarettes: What we know so far

Thank-you everyone!!! I appreciate the feedback in your words and links!!
I'm a single Mom with two daughters, and I just didn't want to expose them to
it, if it was not good. I think my conscious caught up with me!! I always smoked out
side and never in my car, even if I was alone. I feel much better!!! I still vape some outside,
but it's nice to not have to go outside first thing in the morning or late at night!!

I think it's much less harmful then the smog and emissions in our outside air. think of all the emissions in outside air we breathe from millions of cars, oil refineries, factories, ect. I would be Much much more worried about that then second hand water vapor...

This 100%. At times I hold my hit in so I don't even breath out visable vapor. I got my mom into vapeing, when I go over to her house it always smells good, she likes the fruity/dessert flavors. As far as how dangerous it is. No clue, but it's better than cig 2nd hand smoke I bet.
